BREAKING MY HUMERUS LIKE A TWIG

12/09/03 - By BizRay182@aol.com

This is what happened: It was the beginning of the season and I was boarding at Camelback when I hit a table that had the worst lip. I went for a 360 but instead of the normal spin, I was thrown off so it looked like I was doing a barrel role. I landed with my right arm straight, which caused my humerus bone (the bone above your elbow) to snap in half like a twig. I just heard a pop, with no pain at all until I tried to get up. I looked at it and saw a very retarded-looking arm, completely swollen and almost turned around. I knew I screwed my arm up. But like the dumbass I am, I got up slowly and boarded the rest of the way down the mountain. My dad took me to the hospital where I learned I needed surgery (my arm was completely snapped in half, with the bone almost popping out) - lucky me. The docs put three four-inch pins in my arm - there goes the rest of the season. No snowboarding, or skateboarding for three months. Now I’m really, really bored!
