Montana: It's Better Without You!
10/27 - By Joe Prebich

Missoula, Montana - Montana snowboarders kicked off their winter season in the shadow of snowflakes
and snow flicks last week. The Edge of the World 2004 Video Premiere got the job
done stoking the crowd on the upcoming winter months. With Lolo peak dumping in
the background, the Crystal Theater in Missoula was the prefect venue for the
preseason party. And with a buzz circulating faster than Britney Spears rumors,
word of the earliest Mammoth Mountain opening in a decade left the crowd anxious
to get the videos rolling and start the winter season. On the block for the
evening was Lost in Transition, POP, Chulksmack, and Afterlame. This four pack of
big hits and hips kept the crowd stoked as each new video blasted on the screen.
The younger generations quietly drank in every trick, slide, individual style and
song, as the older locals took a quick tally and voted Travis Rice as clinically
insane. In perfect Montana fashion, there were no pros on hand. Local heroes sat
next to up and comers and all were happy with their “Locals Only” video premiere.
But this is Montana, a land where dollar drafts, powders drifts, and an amazing
scene continues to thrive without the lift lines and congestion of other resorts.
And they like it that way. All proceeds from the video premiere drop straight
into the local skatepark fund. You can check out the proposed plans at:
