July 6

//

FGF Bonfire 2 Ticker

Guess what, it’s Friday… well unless you are looking at this a days after it was the originally posted. But this is the internet and nothing on here lasts for more that 30 seconds anyway right? Anyway, like creatures of habit we are giving away more gear for Free Goods Friday and this time it is with Bonfire & Salomon. This pack includes a hoody, a half-sleeve tee, sunglasses, and a hat perfect for those sunny summer days. Since this is such a summer-based kit we want to hear where you would prefer to do your summer shredding. In the comment section below tell us which summer shred camp you would prefer to go to and why. We will pick our favorite answer to get hooked up with this gear.

Contest ends 7/13/12

I am going to High Cascade because its all snowboarders NO skiiers! Also i am going there because that is where all the sick pros shred in the summer!

  • frederik

Whistler, the summer shredding is so sick there!

Go Where winter is! SGT to Argentina.

  • Matthew Sartain

High Cascade because it is the narlyiest camp there is 100% snowboarding! No pesky skiers just shreders looking for a sanctuary. Snow year round, sick coaches, big booters, rad rails, why choose any other camp than High Cascade Snowboard Camp. O and did I mention you meet some of the sickest people of your life and make life long frend(theres no “I” in frends) ships.

  • isak

High Cascade, it doesn’t have the damn two plankers.

  • William

Since when is snowboarding all about money? Summer snowboard camps are for the lucky few that don’t have to work the rest of the year to pay for their winter lift ticket. I personally prefer to grab a couple truck loads of snow from my local hockey rink, head out to a local hill or rail, and shred until everything melts. Plus, making homemade boxes is a great way to earn a little cash on the side (to maybe one day make it up to Windells at Hood!)

  • Conrad

the selection of camps is obvious, HCSC. for the legit reason that its 100% shred, no skiers or pigeons hangin around. They also have a great set up rails wise and keep that groom on lockdown. along with having pro sessions every session, i could actually shred with someone that would have some advice on life, haha. skate and shred parks are awesome. if i had the money, i wouldn’t be sitting here typing on why i wanna win this giveaway.

  • Edward GreyBear

im probibaly gonna shred in valdez alaska

  • http://www.facebook.com/#!/DementedDonkeyProductions Jono Bowles

Camp of Champions! Its the the best summer park ever, the top pros go there and throw down some crazy stuff.Biggest summer park in the world, gnarliest features and even some snowboarder chicks. What more could you ask for on summers day!

  • connnie

no camps, go to governors camp, and go up and hike. you’ll meet people that don’t have the money to go to camp, just like you. but you’ll still be able to shred and chill and best of all drink some cold ones next to the fire with all the crazy people you meet that have that intense love for snowboarding.

  • Marika

    Hy,

I am goin to Hintertux/Austria for some summer bikini shredin !:)

  • Marty Fay

I’d want to go to high cascade because I’ve never been there before and i want to step up my tricks, and the whole mountain looks sick! The features there look amazing and it seems like everyone that goes there has an awesome time. Also it would be 100% better riding there then cutting lawns in PA.

  • jon koch

I’m going to portland this saturday and visiting my uncle don and his family. I didn’t have the money for a week at high cascade, but my dads taking me to a nice little shack at the base of Mt Hood and we’re camping.. Day trips to high cascade at CAMP DAD gonna be a hell of a week, there would most defenitely be a great addition to my clothing collection and what not, Thanks! Peace & Love, My Friends

  • Dan Thach

Woodward at Copper if I could afford it. Working full time doesn’t allow me alot of free time though. I might do a basic session so I understand how to use the foam barn. I’m just an old man trying to hang with the kids on the slopes :-/

  • Kkkory

Camp of champs. I am 19, and the drinking age in the states is 21. Enough said.

  • Patrick

  • heath parmer

not sure if i can choose from high cascade or windells. they both have emazing camps from what i hear i have never been to a summer camp and i would love to go, but i hear great things about both of them. i mean high cascade is 100% snowboarding and they always have cool stuff set up in there vids, but so does windells, its so hard to choose from the two. windells skatepark is deffinately the best it looks like so much fun i would just go there to shred that all day. so my choice will have to be, all of mt. hood buy a season pass and ride the whole mountain and if you get the chance to slip into high cascade or windells do it cause they both have the best and most fun set-ups. all around they both are a good time and they both have great coaches and people that you will remember FOREVER!!!

  • Lucas

Probably the Camp of Champs, its in beautiful B.C. and has some cool pros that go there and I’ve always wanted to go check out whistler.

  • Markus Stoffel

    Saas fee what else :)

  • NAte

COC, cause whistler is dope. it’s close to van where i live, there’s camping, fishing, rock climbing, cliff jumping, skating, and rad mtn biking to be had there also. and i’m not allowed out of the country. nuff said.

  • Andrew

back yard ice rink set up, the sketchier the funner

  • Andrew

backyard ice rink set up with the homies. sketchier the better

  • Wouter Bonhof

Pff, camps. Don’t you make me laugh.
Here in the Netherlands there are no mountains, we have indoor slopes, wich are opened 365 days a year.
I simple jump into my parents car and get there within 40 inutes and stay at a friends place.

I prefer that above a camp. I know everyone who rides there and I am allowed to change the park whenever I want.

Thats where I prefer to shred in the summer.

  • Brenden Hughes

I would definitely prefer to go to High Cascade because its SNOWBOARDERS ONLY. At any other Camp you would have to deal with those stupid “newschooler” skiers and the way they always ruin the jumps onto boxes and rails. Plus High Cascade has Cobra Dogs and, Cobra Dogs are good! High Cascade all the way!!!

  • http://thehavenproductions.blogspot.com Neal Reynolds

Windells! They might not have “the streets” but they have all the other essentials. dope rails/boxes and the diggers there are soooo tight! Windells fo sho!

  • http://daytripdiaries2011.wordpress.com/ Evan Lyendecker

Sand shred in Great Sands Dunes, CO.

  • Sam rumburg

I would want to go to high cascade, mt.hood is a gorgeous mountain!!

  • brandon Kirkland

Dosent matter where i am as long as I’m shredding in the the middle of the summer. In my opinion the all look so sik ! Butt i already get to snowboard in the summer in my back yard cause i have a turf set up . Whatch the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RDgBhCj4dI&feature=plcp

  • Chris Daub

I would definitely choose High Cascade over any other shred camp. 2 summers ago, I was skim boarding in my lame little town of Madison, Ct, when I fell off and broke my collarbone. I forgot to mention this was the day before I was supposed to ship out to Oregon and shred up mount hood. I never made it that summer and instead I ended up with a metal plate and six screws in my clavicle.
Not all was lost though, because I did make it up last summer, and I had a blast. Everything was perfect, from the snow, to the off hill dodge ball. One of the best parts was definitely High Cascades private lap park. And having all snowboarders was undoubtedly a plus.
Unfortunately I can not attend this summer, but let me tell you, High Cascade is the way to go.

  • Dom Fildes

Camp of Champions was one of the best riding experiences I ever had in the summer, I went there 2 years ago, it was sick. The jumps are so well done for summer riding, and the people are awesome. They have some sick rails set up too. Had a great time, and I wish I could go back soon and shred some more there.

  • matt

sass. theres powder, not slush & rails.. are you kidding.

  • giulia

    I’ll camp in THE GARDEN:
    http://www.thegardensnowboardcamp.com/

  • Alex Serrano

The best summer spot is Tignes!! You can shred all day at the glacier, eat truly french food, drink crazy and fuck european girls!! hahaha You must try it! Tignes, French Alps.

  • bill murray

My name is John, and I hate every single one of you. All of you are fat, retarded, no-lifes who spend every second of their day looking at stupid *** pictures. You are everything bad in the world. Honestly, have any of you ever gotten any *****? I mean, I guess it’s fun making fun of people because of your own insecurities, but you all take to a whole new level. This is even worse than jerking off to pictures on facebook.
Don’t be a stranger. Just hit me with your best shot. I’m pretty much perfect. I was captain of the football team, and starter on my basketball team. What sports do you play, other than “jack off to naked drawn Japanese people”? I also get straight A’s, and have a banging hot girlfriend (She just blew me; Shit was SO cash).

  • Aiken

Public Park at timberline! Fun park, cheap living, ski racer babes, and good vibes.

  • Paul

high cascade to skate with rav since I dont know if he’s coming back to school or not in the fall. he’s the funnest kid to skate/film with. oh yeah, and to bug larz for a leak of KTCs holy smokes. so stoked for that video to come out

  • eli

I would go to c.o.c cause it’s not in ‘merica

  • James Archer

Read in Morgan Freeman’s voice “Windells…… because that’s what Patrick Swayze would do.”

  • Ryan Curtin

Realistically, hcsc has the best park. Perfect everything. I’ve been twice when I was younger, but now I cannot afford the 2,000$ cost + airfare + spending money. I guess I’ll just have to wait for winter. But the prize pack looks dope especially The essential camo Hat. Until then I’ll be Melting in the 100 degree weather in Illinois. Keep it cool

  • Lou King

Super Rad camps in Tignes, because it’s super rad!

  • Pat McManus

My best friend and I have been having this debate for quite some time. Probably because when we decide where to go, there will be one less excuse to not make it happen. After much deliberation, he is for Windells cause they have a real fun looking skatepark, and I am in favor of High Cascade cause it seems like the best time overall, but really I’d gladly go to any camp to set foot on a real mountain in August. And I’ll regret it if I never do it. It’s final, just gotta pick the camp and pinch the pennies.

  • http://SnowboardMag Cody

Wish I was hitting up Camp of Champs or HCSC, parks keep getting crazier each year, but since that won’t be happening i’ll wakeboard my life away up north in Ontario

  • Cam Johnson

Moment of nostalgia. If I could go back I would prefer to do my summer shredding at Camp Windells, in Oregon. Some of my best summer memories. As a young-buck learning new tricks, meeting tons of friends, and shredding in one of the most beautiful landscapes of Mount Hood. I would pick Windells because there’s no place like it on Earth!

  • Michael Smith

woodward at copper- close to home, good summer park, indoor training facility and you get to ride with pros!

  • Crunt

hood for sur, but fuck camps, I ain’t got $2500 to ride in slush and hang out wit a bunch of annoying ass grom babies and pay 10 dollars for a hot dog, not to mention you get babysat the whole time, I would prefer truckin up to a free campsite, or even the parking lot of timberline, #fuckit #yolo. then Jus kickit wit some homies and some brews in that dope Bucket hat and hoodie namsayin? DOGPOUND 4 LIFE bitchez!

  • Rothanak Chan

Mt. Hood. Close to home, solid park, easy trip to Nike HQ to grab some SB boots. Start at the top of Palmer at Timberline with the snowboard, longboard down timberline road and over to hood river, then finish off the day with some wakeboarding on hood river. It’s a board sport triathlon.

  • http://www.snowdiscountcodes.com Rob

Hopefully our offers last a bit longer! :)

    http://www.snowdiscountcodes.com

  • Eric

I can’t afford to go to some camp, so I wander the mountains looking for snow. My beard is currently 2 inches.

  • Rob Otto

Mount hood snowboard camp back in the Todd Franzen and Frank Wells days!

  • Jace

I suppose if i hada the dough to go i’d hit up hood because it’s the closest, but since i don’t it’s floatin the river, wakeboarding, and stompin around the woods all summer for me so i have money to shred all winter because fresh pow is worth more than slush to me.

  • Andrew Burns

Mt. Hood is fun in all, but I prefer to do my summer shredding at the one and only 4th of July bowl super park featuring a whopping whole two rails and no ski patrol to yell at ya!

  • Jesse

I don’t have enough money for summer camp let alone new gear, so I would drive to Rogers pass or to Parker’s ridge and set up some hits and drink beers till I was soaked and cold. But if I could
go anywhere it would be Camp of champions with my friends who are going in two weeks.

  • David Keeler

As I posted on my fb page: “Almost over for the summer, but definately: Camp of Champions, ’cause it’s in Canada, Canadians are mellow & don’t have to listen to any discussions about politics.”

  • Andrew Burns

Mt. Hood is fun and all, but I prefer to do my summer shredding at the one an only 4th of July bowl in Breckinridge, with a whole whopping two rails and a sweet place to campout, what could be better???

  • Mitch

COC for sure!! Whistler is the best place to ride and hang out, massive skate parks for off-snow time and rad staff!!

  • Gordon Hall

I am a 14 year old kid, during school I worked almost every weeknight and every weekend. Since school is out I have been working so much lately. I’ve got 2 days off in the past 3 weeks. Ill be spending all of August at Snow Park NZ. I paid for the trip myself, yes that would be $7000. Ill be riding with all the pros while there at the top of there game on the bottom of the world. Snow Park is were I want and am spending my summer. I don’t feel like taking 3 chairlifts and a bus or whatever it is just to go fog boarding, right?

  • trevor

Mt hood is my favorite place to snowboard in the summer time because it has the best jumps and terrain.

  • Ryan

Woodward at copper for sure. Who doesnt love hitting jumps into huge foam pits?

  • Keenan Gibson

I want to come shred mount hood. I want to snowboard with people i have looked up to since i was a tyke like scotty steves, chris grenier, preston strout, and new shreds i have come to love such as mike rav, blaze kotsenberg, jesse kimura and johny o’connor. the scene up there is just unbelievable, i purchase and wore a bright pink jacket and got nothing but smiles. public park or not i will be up there to shred for as long and as many times as possible. I am still only 16, but high cascade and Mt hood in general have completely and forever changer my outlook on people and snowboarding for the better, i don’t think i could ever find a funner place in the world!

  • Peter

I would play Warcraft instead because I don’t like the sun.

  • Ryan Moran

Hcsc. Simply because it’s run BY snowboarders FOR snowboarders

  • Austin

I’ve never had the opportunity to go to a camp, but if I had the chance I would for sure hit up Camp of Champs! It’s such a tease because the camp is only a ferry ride away from me, so maybe one day! I think it’s tight that there’s an opportunity for not only boarders, but also skiers and bikers to ride with their heroes and favourite pro’s in the world. I can’t imagine a better place to be in the summer than on the whistler glacier on a sunny day rockin’ out to some sick tunes shredding with your hero. That’s the life right there.

  • CHristopher Winze

I probably would prefer the camp of champions in whistler because in the valley i´s summer and on the mountain you can have awesome snow fun but either way I don´t have the money to go there…so I would be very pleased with this awesome summer package :D

  • mark

Mt hood for sure gloves down. Where else can you go and have a sick time jibbing the amazing terrain park and go to one of hundred strip clubs? Make it hail on those bitches. I would suggest boarding first otherwise your gonna get the c-team. And what’s that no tax in Oregon? Oh yeah we got a winner.

  • http://cadaverkrew.blogspot.com Brandon

Alyeska’s summer camp AKA Boarderline Camp- it was great shreddin with all the homeys and pros like Burtner, Borgstede, Kooley, Lando, Bogart, Mark Thompson, Brady Farr, Gus Engle, Chris Larson and way more…..

  • Tihomir Veselinov

    Whistler !!!:)

  • Tihomir Veselinov

    Whistler !!!

  • John

Well I haven’t had the chance to shred too many big mountains but from what I can tell, The Camp of Champs in Whistler seems unreal. I would do terrible things to get the chance to spend my summer there.

  • Pete

HCSC hands down. I’ve been there… Heaven on earth, enough said.

  • Jamie

Woodward at Tahoe cause they suck way less dick then everyone else

  • Jordo Rae

I would go anywhere in the southern hemi cause that’s where the pow is! Or anywhere with snow is good enough for me!

  • mark

Mount hood gloves down. Where else can you jib at a sick terrain park during the day and make it rain at night at on of the hundred strip clubs? I would suggest going boarding first otherwise you will get the c-team of strippers. And what’s that no tax. Yeah I think we got a winner

  • mark

mount hood gloves down. Where else can you jib the sickest terrain park and make it rain at the hundred strip clubs? I would suggest going boarding first otherwise you will get the c-team. And what’s that, no tax? yeah I think we got a winner

  • mark

Mount hood gloves down. Where else can you jib the sickest terrain park during the day and make it rain at night at local strip clubs? I would suggest going snowboarding before the strip club other wise your gonna get the filthy c-team of strippers. And what’s that, no tax? I think we have a winner

  • mark

mount hood gloves down. Where else can you jib the sickest terrain park during the day and make it rain on the filthiest strip clubs at night? I would suggest shredding first otherwise you will get the dirty C-Team and the strip club. And whats that, no tax. Yeah i think we have a winner here. Snow and a Show count me in.

  • Michelle

windells no doubt. lots of stuff to do off the mountain and even more stuff to do on. great coaches, great atmosphere and i havent heard anything bad about it.

  • Serena Dangs

I would love to go to Camp of Champions because it is in such a beautiful location right in Whistler village, and has a world class terrain park. Not as many pros go there as HCSC and Windells byt it’s a small price to pay for a fantastic experience.

  • Jess

Since I was little I dreamed about going to windells and shred during the summer. Sooner or later that dream will come true and I can wear this gear doing so.

  • Melissa

Camp of champions. Whistler is killer beautiful and I would love to go there!

  • brodey wolfe

i would like to go to high cascade because i have never been there and all the edits make the park look so fun and it would be a dream to go there and have fun because snowboarding is all about having fun with friends

  • http://www.apostlethirteen.com Bryce

HIGH CASCADE cause the marshmellow is cute.

  • Charles

    High Cascade Snowboard Camp

  • Nikola Pichler

I´d take my car, get my friends, leave the hot site of Austria and drive all way to Stubaier Gletscher and spend an awesome time with them. <3

  • mike

wish i had the funds to make it to high cascade or whistler, but i think my dream summer shred session would have to be new zealand.

  • Tyle

High Cascade so i can be in the Bonfire salomander race

  • Tanner

If I were to go to a camp it would most likely be Woodward at Copper because I’ve wanted to go there for years! But I definitely want to go summer shredding in either New Zealand or some glaciers in Norway!

  • Connor

    My BACKYARD!!

  • matt reid

To shred during the summertime I wouldn’t go in search of snow but sand. I would head to Carcross Desert in the Yukon to do some sandboarding. Shred some sand!

    http://www.sandboard.com/locations/canada/carcross/

  • Taylor

COC! Looks really sick there, but I am too poor to go anywhere.

  • brian

camp of champs… never been to canada and prob would end just staying there

  • Clayton

    I prefer Windells!

  • James

HCSC!! It’s strickly snowboarders which is hype. I’ve been to Whis for summer shredding before, it was suuuper fun. But I’d have to pick HCSC because the coaches there and pro’s that go to film look way more funner, and the park itself is just set up for snowboarders which makes up for funner riding!! HCSC waddup.

  • Colton

I like to throw down some turf in my backyard spray it down with some water and sesh on of my rails

  • Alex

I would ride at Keystone..if they had a summer shred program….

  • Holly

Timberline Lodge in Oregon. It’s beautiful, not too crowded, and has some great hills.

  • Tyler OC

I would go too snow camp chile because it’s their winter there and they would have actual POWDER..Powder in the summer? that sounds like a blessing from god.. Way better than snowboarding on some glacier in Canada or Oregon in my opinion.

  • Dylan

Breckenridge Colorado. Other than the huge drought going on right now, it’s beautiful there. Just got back actually. Loved it there. Hot babes too.

  • about to talk some shit

Bill Murray aka John the Jock…
you sir, are a royal piece of shit. your that kid in high school that everyone hates, including your ugly ass girlfriend that just blew you off. on one cares your the caption of some shitty ass football team or that you run with balls in your hand. im sure you love sucking up to all of your teachers at school just to grab those straight A’s and go home to brag to mom and dad. if you don’t like to shred, then get the fuck off this site. i guarantee that half the shredders out there are making more cash flow then you’ll ever see. and if you want someone to “hit you with their best shot” don’t be a fucking pussy, included an email address asshole. and i know for a fact, we all get a lot more good looking “pussy” then you do. check out volcoms girls, roxy ladies. your just jealous of the life style we lead cause we don’t have a dad with a stick up his ass pushing us to play football and basketball then turning around and fucking you in the ass. we chase powder dude, what do you chase besides good grades and dudes in the locker room. how about you get a fucking life and stop talking shit, cause one day, its gonna come around dick face and when it does, you’ll fucking deserve every last minute of it. so heres my best shot you perfect prince, go fuck yourself and everything you stand for. i hope the ugly whore of yours eats shit and fades away.

    Peace FUCKER.

  • JM

HCSC! Legendary shit. Good homies, goodvibes, lots of fun and the best summer shredding you cant even dream of.

  • Ray

I spent last winter season living and breathing in the Whistler experience. My lease and job finished in spring so I bussed back to Alberta. Before I left I was told by many the summers in Whistler are better than the winter. There are lots of places I’d love to ride during the summer but before I even plan anything out I should experience what the homeland has to offer and what she offers is Whistler.

  • Brad

Pfffttt… Summer shred camp? Wish I had the funds to go to one.

As a student, the only think I can hope for is a weeks skiing at camp on a glacier in France. I need to go to a camp to feed my snowboarding addiction, it’s the only way to keep me going in between seasons. An added bonus is that some real special French chicks are willing to show some skin in the summer months…

  • Joseph B

Woodward Copper because it’s far away that it’ll seem like a vacation, but it’s also in CO so the weather will be great and dry out instead of wet and humid. There’s a bunch of fun nearby activities you can do also like mountain bike and hike.

  • nick

High Cascade because without me High Cascade would just be Aweso

  • Carter Hodgson

The Summer Rookie Camp Italy because as a young boarder working with other gromets is sick and cos other people on the camp are keen snowboarders and love what they do

  • Ry

When you’re broke, it’s mid summer, and you’ve got the shred fever like Hendrix in a dry town, lets just say you’d do about anything for a few lines up on Hood in the sun with a few good buddies. Theres nothin’ like cruisin’ Above the clouds like gangstarr shreddin the public park to some screamin tunes. Don’t forget to lube up, the sun’s treacherous! As for the shred camp, high cascade takes the cake.. I’ve always dreamed of floatin’ a back one over one of those giant marshmallows.

  • Matt

I do my summer shredding on a wakeboard. Don’t have the $$$ for any of these camps.

  • Michaël Parent

I’m skating the bowl all summer long to get better in Pipe transitions this Winter. This IS my summer camp! Alley Oops in the 6 feet ramp is the best!

  • Mario

New Zealand, fo sho ! ! Somewhere around Queenstown could be the perfect summer shreddin with happy ppl and good vibes

  • francesca smith-dedrick

best place to shred in the summer is Blackomb BC! camp of champs Dave Murray and Momentum all reside on the same beautiful glacier for 2 months in the summer. gettin to ride with pros like JP Walker Joe Sexton and Simone Chamberlin makes camp of champs the best place to show off your moves while you try to get ur skills up to JP standards. stay beautiful Blackomb you are my summer sanctuary!

  • isaac laredo

this summer i went to woodward tahoe and was super sick i think i would prefer to go there over the others because of the smaller crowd and with a low snow year they still set up a killer park so imagine what they could do with a normal year and there snow side of the camp might not be as good as the camps in hood. but off snow the bunker is crazy it just a place for progression with the parkboards those helped me dial in tricks. its an unreal place and its the first year next year it will be even more insane!!!

  • Luis

I would shred up at Whistler if I could, but since I’m broke I just stick to downhill longboarding by the hills up by my house

  • Michelle

Why not hit up some real powder in chile? that’d where i’d want to be.

  • JibbingFruits

I think the best summer snowboarding camps are definitely at high cascade. I hear they get pro snowboarders like Jed anderson to teach you! Man I would shit myself if I met that guy! Your getting taught how to snowboard by someone good enough to enter the X games!

  • Drew Jordan

High Cascade since it is a snowboard only and the features are different in a good way. Also, I’ve never been out west living on the east coast and it looks like a fun skate/snowboard program they have.

  • Pingback: The Snowboarding Review » Blog Archive » Learn How To Boardslide with Snowboard Pro Camp

If I had to choose ONE summer shred camp it would def be High Cascade just because of their learning programs, activities when you’re not riding (can you say skate park!!) and location. It’s in the nicest, coziest town of Govy Camp. So rad!!! But honestly, I will ride ANYWHERE with snow.

  • Adam Thornton

I would love to go summer shredding in Chili or New Zealand, to be able to do pow turns in august would just be unreal!!!!!!

  • http://www.facebook.com/qdmason Quentin Mason

the High Cascade, I am sure I will “f” myself up though but i would have a cool set of glasses to cover up the black eyes

  • Nathan

Gotta head to Lynchburg, VA to the Liberty Snowflex Center for their summer camp! U can get sooooo many laps on the jumps and rails and is waaaayyyy cheaper than heading all the way out to Oregon or Canada
