It’s Friday, not only does that mean your work/school week is almost over… but it also means that we are giving away more free stuff. Today is a good day. For our latest contest we are giving away this DC Snowboarding Nevado Jacket. DC has a pretty heavy team. We aren’t implying they are fat, unless you are spelling that with a “ph”. We want to know who your favorite rider on the DC Snow team is.     They’re team is stacked. Initially I’d say T-Rice, Biitner, or Torstein, but I’m going to go with Canadian legend Devun. I’ve grown up reading TWS and Snwobaording and watching this guy in MDP videos. He probably sends one of the cleanest back 1s off cliffs and other natural features. This guy has a natural ability for riding crazy Whistler BC terrain. Snowboard HOF-bound for sure!

    My favourite is the 7 year old Benni which DC postet on the Facebook page today :) He is already better than me and i think if he keeps on training like this in a few years he will be one of the best riders :)

    Of the list my favourite is of course Torstein! He is surch a great snowboarder. When he is doing a trick it looks so easy and relaxed! I can practise as often as possible but i will never learn to be as relaxed as him! But if i get the jacket i will looks as good as him :)

    Torstien, with all his video’s on youtube you can just tell her has fun and loves what he does. Some riders make snowboarding a job, he makes it fun which I think helps make him at the top of the pack. He can shred anything! Urban to Back country to Park to just runs! He landed the first triple cork and just shreds the dick.

He is funny, attraktiv, friendly, knows how to have fun, helpsome and my greatest idol. Every single time I´m on the top of a mountain, I´m like “One Day I will beat Shaun W. and TORSTEIN HORGMO!” He is kind of a guy, you want to be like.     torstein. when i hear his name in any sort of comp i perk up, for i know that that dude will thrown down. frontside triple cork 14? no big deal first one to land it… also, i dont think he has any hair on his balls… hair doesnt grow well on STEEL. god. mad props to that dude, he inspires me to do tricks, then do them switch! his attitude and humor is golden, just like him. i think torstein is still the one to beat in a comp. he also got MAD TALL TEE STEEEZ!!

    Definitely Torstein Horgmo. The way he manage those jumps, rails, well just everything is absolutely amazing. Hes riding style is so smooth and he has so much steeze, but not only in snowboarding, but also as a person from Norway. Torstein has so much humour and love which he expresses in such a fantastic way. Whatever he does, he likes, and if something goes wrong – then try again.
    Torstein is and will always be my favorite snowboard rider!

    Travis Rice- I would have to say is my favorite rider as other riders on team are ill also.I Jamacian and seen this him do some amazing things on the art of flight and amazing got hooked in to snowboard. I ride in the east coast and went to the mountain hoping for powder, to do some crazy ish. like that in the movie. i had got a board from a friend i went to shcool with told him.. i going to be the first jamacian to be on a snowboard team. My bruddah billy was like first you can’t wear jeans when boarding. no cotton hoodies etc etc… i told him as long as i warm with a spli… i be irie.. i youtube how to board and now i better then him doing i think you call it. backside 180? and frontside. i go hard at it like no limits as i seen TRAVIS RICE DO IN NOT JUST IN ART OF FLIGHT BUT ” LIKE HE SAID IN THE MOVIE -”IF YOU FEAR IT, YOU NOT READY” I NEED A UPGRADE IN GEAR AND I BE IRIE IF I HAD DIS JACKET AND I UP AND COMING LOVE THE BACKCOUNTRY RIDING IN THE MOUNTAINS CLOSE TO MT ZION.     I would say that Torstein Horgmo is the best DC Snow team rider. Why? I actually can’t say why, because Torstein is just the best rider!
    First of all he is one of the best or is the best allround snowboarder. He has 10 years experience on snowboard and he was the first person who landed a trippel cork. He has also first place in X-games Big Air and lots of first places i Dew Tour. When I sit, watching X-Games and Torstein Horgmo is in the competition; I get really inspired of his technical jumps and his style. He is so inspiring that I think children, teens and adults wants to stand more and more on snowboard but also ski.
    Torstein is not a good snowboarder who knows what he’s doing, but he is a enjoyable man. On Youtube you can see funny stuff from Horgmo like ”Game of In Your Face” – Torstein Horgmo & ****. One of the sweetest thing or the funniest thing is Nicole. All respect to Torstein and Nicole, especially how Torstein treats his snowboards! Hahaha ☺

    I like Travis’s style and movements. it looks really cool and impressive especially free riding in Alaska, Canada, etc. I have never seen anything like his videos before and I did not even know somebody does things like that. It’s crazy and something unbelievable.

    Apart from that, I have seen a few videos I liked with Torstein Horgmo & Ryan Tiene and I can’t say why. I just enjoy 2 things about snowboarding in general: these guys do amazing things not letting the fear overwhelm them and winning every single time they ride and, of course, very important is how they do things.

    It’s amazing how relaxed and the same time concentrated they are, the movements are very smooth and aesthetic.

    I can’t say the rest of the team is bad, it’s just I have seen more videos of those guys I have mentioned above and they caught my eye.

    Well, I could say Travis Rice like every Top 40 person that’ll enter this contest that doesn’t even really ride or know that much about snowboarding, & is just going by what they’ve seen in the media (nothing personal Snowboarder), & it’s not to take away from his skills at all, ’cause homeboy rips, super hard, let’s face it! Or I could go with Torstein, ’cause he did the triple backflip at X, & did it with fractured or broken ribs (that’s seriously hardcore) & I almost wanna’ pick him just because of that), or I could go with Devun, ’cause let’s face it, he makes serious backcountry & pow riding look like child’s play, & truth is, all these guys rip & are super respectable without a doubt, but honestly, I’ve seen some footy of Biitner, & he is just so spontaneous, playful, & flowing when he rides, that you don’t really know what he’s gonna’ do next, & I do’t think he really does either, sometimes. It’s that kind of spontaneous, just doing whatever comes to you at the moment feelin’ it kind of flow that really, really, makes riding so much fun! And that’s what it’s all about when it’s all said & done, enjoying it to the max & living life to its fullest! Sooo, I’m givin’ props to Aaron today, they all rip, they’re all awesome in their own way, but Biitner is kind of like the Gonz of snowboarding, compared to skateboarding, or at least what Gonz used to be like…, later peeps, peace, oh yeah, & have fun out there to! :)

Not only does this brash, innovative, hard-charging rider push the limits of what is being done on the mountain; his boyish irreverence and genuine love for the sport make watching him ride an inspiration for me to go out and do what the sport is all about in the first place: have fun. There is no doubt that Torstein enjoys what he does and that he’s incredibly good at it. As such he is the trifecta of a rider: he awes, inspires and entertains. I always enjoy watching Horgmo do his thing, and always wish I was on the mountain afterward.

    TRAVIS RICE. Easiest decision of my life, he’s the best rider in the world (ROTY 2012). He’s always pushing his limits (shown in That’s It, That’s all and The Art of Flight). He rides with such flow and steeze it’s amazing. He inspires not only the backcountry riders to push themselves but to all riders in general to just get out there and shred. Watching The Art of Flight I’ve never seen anything like that, the way he shreds those mountains people could only dream of doing in their life time, and he makes it look so easy!! I watch that movie over & over. Travis inspires me to get out on the mountain and try new things, even if it means failing from time to time. He is my role model.

    Devun Walsh actually. To think that he put so much stock in DC, believed in it, and he was a pioneer on the team that believed in what they were about and not making a watered down industry. He kills it on board, has a destroyed windpipe to show his dedication to the sport, and is a legend. NO ONE has a better switch back 1 than Dev. Every rider takes a little bit of this man’s style, whether or not they watch his parts.

    Torstein Horgmo. He shows great personality and respect to other snowboarders even though he knows that he is better than them. Champion shredder and the first person to land a triple cork! I even bought the jumper that he was wearing when he did the triple cork!! Thanks to him, he gave me hope and a dream to be myself other than being someone else that my parents want me to be. I’m currently 18 years old, I have never won a single trophy or a competition before, and this is my last year of high school. People in school call me a loser and they disregard me as their friend because maybe I’m not cool enough for them or maybe I don’t drink, but all that don’t matter thanks to Torstein. He helped me learn how to show respect to others and be greatfull with what I have in life. I’m working for 14 hours a day 4 days a week during the school holidays just to save up enough money to buy a new snowboard and just shred, and although I have never touched snow before, I am determined that all this will happen by the end of the year! And although I may not win this competition, I have hope this all will happen in december! I show great respect to Torstein, and I know that I will never be as good as him, but it would be great that I will have the chance to meet him and just chill with him one day.

    Torstein Horgmo. The year when black winter came out was my first year on snowboard, and I was hyped on the movie, and my friends said to me like few weeks after the film came out, that I look like him lol. So that’s how he became my favourite rider, and now I’m checking him since than and he is realy good progression rider, with steezy and clean tricks..

    Travis Rice has to be the strongest member of the team. He has pushed the level of snowboard films to a much higher level with Art of Flight and That’s It That’s All. And now the he has pushed snowboard competitions beyond the ordinary with Supernatural at Baldface. But my favorite DC rider is Devun Walsh, he has put his name on a great board with tight graphics. He also seems like the kind of guy who keeps the riding scene fun.

    I feel that Torstein Horgmo is the best DC rider, for many reasons. One example to prove this point is that, well sure he didnt create awhole competition like Travis Rice did, but what he does it alot more influential. Just the way he rides in his videos makes kids want to go and start learning the sport, cause Torstien makes it seem like the greatest and funnest thing in the world to do. He expresses through his riding the true meaning of boarding, and that is finding yourself and being one with the board. He shows us that, boarding is a great way to let out all your stress and worries by shredding as hard as you can. And another example is that, well, he is just an insane shredder!! Just watching him makes me wanna go, grab my board and start trying to do 270′s onto anything! So there is the reason on why Torstein Horgmo is the best DC rider and will always be my favourite rider, for as long as he continues to shred!

    Devun Walsh for sure! That guy is one of kind! He has such a calm but awesome style & he can just tear up the run in any conditions! He actually was the biggest reason I started snowboarding in the first place. Every time he does a run I just sit there in awe! Whether he does a 180, a corkscrew, or a double flip I just love his riding! :)

    My favorite DC Snowboarder is Torstein Horgmo. He is been my snowboarding idol. This year to get pumped up for my first backflip I watched some of his videos. From Torstein’s amazing flow to his crazy triple corks gave me something I couldn’t explain, it gave me motivation to become as good as him one day. The message I get from watching his videos is to ride with a passion because you might only have one chance to do what you love to do and to always dream big because you always have a shot at success. Supprisingly I landed my first backflip, and the next, and I still have have yet to not land one. He is from Norway and has grown up with decent places to snowboard and I am growing up in the Midwest with,”Resorts”, with a 100ft vertical. It’s not the best but is gives me something to look forward to because I love boarding and a resort with a 100ft vertical is like heaven to me and all of my friends! When I board I imagine that I’m boarding in Torstein’s boots because first off Toresteins freaking amazing and secondly I look up to him!

    Devun Walsh, because “he is such a nice young man,” and tucks old people in their beds at night… alluding to the Billy Mays HKD infomercial. Seriously tho, Dev Walsh is a legend! In Color was such a great video. And the episodes he did with Ikka on Polar Opposits were really good also. He just seems to have an overal great attitude and it really shines through in his riding.

    There’s not a bad choice to be made. I totally understand anyone saying T. Rice. He might be the best snowboarder alive. He’s taken that riding style that Johan pioneered and next leveled it. No question. Torstein’s offering a lot and remains my favorite slopstyle comp rider and also has a lighthearted fun attitude as shown in the “in your face” vids. Sometimes the competition leaders can (i hate to say this) borderline sound like pro hockey players, and Torstein isn’t like that. But, because Devun is on the team, Devun gets respect. He’s kept his style and been a consistent backcountry killer for way longer than pro’s generally last. Plus, he was Forum 8. That’s kind of a big deal. He has one as night of Front 3′s and 5′s as anyone. You could call it an iconic style. On a sidenote: favorite skate on DC right now is Mike Mo. Another topic for another time.
