Free Goods Friday: Ride Snowboards

January 20

// 363 COMMENTS

For this week’s Free Goods Friday we are giving you the chance to win one of Ride’s powder boards, The Slackcountry. Now we know mother nature seems to have her panties in a bunch right now, but there are definitely places that do in fact have snow. Since this is a powder board, we want you to tell us in the comment section below which resort in the United States has the most snow right now (the deepest base). We will select the right answer to get hooked up with a brand new Ride, in more ways then one. If the winner is smart, they will take this new snowboard and head to said resort. Now that would be nice. Get guessing.

Just thought I would check to see if people are still entering... apparently so, and apparently it's still Mt. Baker, just like it was in January when this contest went down. Good times. Hope the winner is getting some good use out of it.

Mt. Baker USA! Base at Heather Meadows: 134 inches Base at Pan Dome: 165 inches

By: Kirk

January 23

I am still interested in how this plays out. Baker is currently way out ahead officially. http://www.onthesnow.com/open_resorts_all states that it's 135 inches. That's at the bottom, which is in my opinion the most important indicator. I assume that is why onthesnow is listing the base as the base that is at the lowest point. Although, at this point in the the game Baker is way out ahead anyway. (135-166 in). So, I think base at the base is the determining factor of who has the most base. Just saying.

Mount Baker has the most snow for a snowboard resort in the united states with 147 inches at the top of Pan Dome, thanks to the extra 3 inches of powder since Friday, Janurary 20. This is reported directly from mount bakers staff, not via "On The Snow" so this is as accurate as a snow report can get!!! The snow base was measured Sunday, Janurary, 22. This beats Eaglecrests snow report, also directly from the staff with only 140 inches reported Sunday, Janurary, 22 as well, which has decreased from their former 142 inch base from Friday, Janurary,20.

Depends what you are going by. If you use http://www.onthesnow.com/open_resorts_all Then Mt. Baker has Eaglecrest beat. If you are going by http://www.weather.com/life/ski/snowreport/Mt.+Baker+WA+266:11 and http://www.weather.com/life/ski/snowreport/141:11 Then Eaglecrest technically has more base at the top, by 4 inches. At the bottom of the hill, Baker has the most (118-144 in), but at the top of Eaglecrest in Alaska, Eaglecrest has the most (75-148 in). If it was average of base depth, then Baker has the most. SO basically. Baker at the top and average base depth - most. Base depth at the top - Eaglecrest. Dang son.
