The Frendly Gathering a few weekends ago reminded us of how fun Mammoth still is…. in Mid June! There’s a billion reasons you should be there right now and not at home burning up the air conditioner while you eat soggy cereal in front of your computer. We say there’s a billion reasons, but only one is going to score you some tickets. Tell us in the comments section below what your reason is; why you need to get there. The best reason gets 8 anytime tickets that expire July 4th. That’s 8 more days of shredding, or 4 days with a friend, or one really good weekend, either way it’s better than what your doing right now.

my reason is that there isn’t much to do in a small town in wisconsin in the summer. Our season wasn’t very long this year so i didn’t get my fill of shredding. now i’m stuck riding my bike around town and umpiring baseball games trying to get a little money for next season. I really need to get somewhere and snowboard before i go completely insane.

the reason i need to go ride is that i tought snowboarding all season and got used to bein able to ride everyday, and now im stuck in the central valley missin the snow and workin at a dying sports store. I also need a pick me up cuz i got jumped by a bunch of bikers yesterday at a skate park cuz i said something to them about cutting off little kids and riding recklessly. i have friends that would go with me to the mammoth and ive never been myself. id love to go even if it is technically summer. the snow is where i belong:)

I would be hyped to rip mammoth for a few days because we got skunked on by winter in Washington this past season. the few pow days we got were mostly lumped twords the end of the season right as our resorts were closing down, and post-seas hiking can only fill the void so much. It might also be worth mentioning that I had to slug through a full time university education this past winter and spring, my fault but still an inhibitor to shredding. It’d be rad to drive down to Cali and rip around a bit in the sun since our summer seems to be on delay up here too and skateboarding gets mildly boring. Big Up Yourself.

My reason is I didnt get to shred much last season cause I was so focused on school so I can get my good grades. I am finally out of school and the only place to shred is mammoth. Im tired of skateboarding and I want to hit the slopes very bad. I need a vacation, im tired of being in the house. Mammoth is where its at!

  • Ronnie

I have personally never been to Mammoth, but I hear great things. I need to get out of my house right now because my girlfriend is driving me insane. One weekend away to shred, try new tricks, experience something new and different other than my girlfriend would easily make my summer. I would try and go to hood but I am too broke to travel and buy lift tickets up there. This is my last resort to ditch my lady and go have a blast with some homies.

ok so the reason im tryin to go to mammoth is because i really would like a vacation, i live in alaska and i havnt been out of alaska for 7 going on 8 years and ive never been snowboarding anywhere else.
we have two resorts ones a bigger mountain resort but like with cliffs and stuff like that and the rails suck. and the other is just a little hill with some railsbut those rails are rusty.
snowboarding is one of the most important things in my life and now i cant ride and the summer just boars me to death
so please snowboardermag make my summer not suck?

  • David H

Last day of the year at Okemo the chick I was riding with fell off the lift and got a bad concussion. Worst last day ever. I want a re-do. She wants a re-do.

Why do I deserve the 8 Mammoth tickets? For one, snowboarding is my sole passion in life. My dedication is obvious just from the size of this entry. I plan on being involved with the industry in some way when I grow up whether it is riding, filming, or even building parks at a resort. Mammoth’s parks have always been at the pinnacle of park building and their influence on my 8 days in Mammoth could end up forever changing park features and how they are ridden. Secondly, I have an appreciation for Mammoth in springtime. Ive been there once two years ago for the PBRJ championships and the two days I spent riding the Unbound park were two of the most fun days I have ever ridden a snowboard. Perfect park slush and sixty to seventy degree temperatures! Perfect for trying some new tricks and having a blast. Mammoth’s spring environment is the best way to cap off a year and it would be the perfect place to break in my new GNU Danny Kass Vertighoul that I won in Echo’s Am Last Park Standing . Third, I am considering going to Cerro Coso Community College in Mammoth after I graduate. This opportunity to enjoy the town of Mammoth Lakes would be a perfect way for me to get to know if I would like to go to school there in the future. Fourth, I’m an unemployed high schooler two hours from any summer snowboarding opportunites. Throughout the year I have to labor to find rides and accumulate enough gas money to make the journey up to Summit County every weekend. These lift tickets would give me the opportunity to greatly improve my game. For me to get 8 days in Colorado would take around 4 weeks! Fifth, If I gained the opportunity to snowboard at Mammoth I would also extend the opportunity to one of my friends. This way, multiple people can enjoy the fruits of Mammoth and the experience can be filmed for more to enjoy. Whether I win or not, I know I will be spending time in the future at Mammoth Mountain. How about helping a high schooler realize his dream and beginning his adventure through the snowboard industry by sending him to the funnest mountain on Earth?

snowboarding’s lifestyl cant be portrayed in my basement playing skate 3. Ill bring booze babes whatever is takes i just need some shred in my life

  • Mammoth!

Why should I deserve these tickets to mammoth? First of all I live in Wisconsin where we ride hills, not mountains. Our season is short, our parks are nothing like mammoth’s park, and I rode absolutely no pow this last season. I missed half this past season because of some knee problems. I’ve also never been out west! I’d like to experience riding a mountain, and this summer would be the best time to do that because right now I’m bummed out trying to mow as many lawns and baby sit as many kids as I can so I can buy some new gear for next season.

  • your dad

i gotta grab some mute. simple and plain

  • timmy wonderly

oh i would love a trip to get mammoth because i really need to push my snowboarding to the next level, HAHA. Nah i just wanna have some more fun in the summer but if not whatever ill just skate

  • jenise

I know this entry is a day late,
but winning 8 tickets is just so great
that the reasons I should still win are what I will now state:

Every day without snow, all I do is skate
I keep ripping my jeans and bruising my epiphyseal plate

I need to shred the gnar and I refuse to lie in wait
my desire is steadily increasing like the unemployment rate

On your magazine I don’t hate
I support you guys: I keep it straight

From high school this year I did graduate
And I deserve to go snowboarding to celebrate

My passion for snowboarding is something I’d never underate
It could conquer nations like Alexander the Great

I’m running out of things that rhyme with “ate”
Better close the buffet before I become overweight

Snowboarder Mag, please be a mate
and pass me those tickets to make my summer snow day count eight.

  • the j family

I think my family deserves these tickets to mammoth mountain because, we can really use a vacation. And although we live less then two hours away from mammoth. taking a vacation, and experiencing the snow, has not been feesable for us.
yet this wouldn’t be just any ordinary vacation for us, our son Joshua, has never seen the snow.
If you can give us the experience of a lifetime. It would mean bringing our family together. And making our dreams come true!

  • Jordan Duke

i think i deserve this trip because i live in Maryland, and i have to drive 6 hours to go snowboarding. When i go riding its on ICE and it sucks, and i really would like to shred a Great MOUNTAIN!

  • Jax Lee

I only rode 7 times this year, moved to Georgia in the middle of December…its at least 4 hours to get to a tiny slope. Its also pretty hard to get to with out a car. I miss the hell out of snowboarding and skateboarding wont cut it. I also missed one of the most EPIC snowstorm in the East Coast (D.C area) when i moved down to Georgia. Friends calling me to remind me what i missed, 4 feet of free fresh powder… in the suburbs of D.C. Which never, EVER happened when i was living there. So, last season was kinda weak.

  • Alyssa Kupila

Because I’m stuck in a shit town flipping burgers at the local dairy queen with an all girl staff a middle of summer heat wave and a broken air conditioner. not to mention I’ve only got out once this year and i need to do a face plant in some sweet cold white gold, cause the yellow stuff tastes like shit.

  • jordan wells

My reason is that i live in BEL AIR MARYLAND! i know we got hit with 98 inches of snow this year but the closest but lamest mountain is like 2 hours away! and i am only 16 but i love to snowboard and this comming season i might want to drive there. but i only got to go up twice this season whicoh killed me. Going to mammoth would relieve me of my drivers ed filled summer before i go back to high school. Please consider me thank you

  • Ryan Kuenzi

San Diego State has no snow! I’m used to boarding everyday of the winter so I’m having withdrawals. Surfing just isn’t cutting it. A few road trips up to mammoth with a board in the back is what every boarder needs. Get me up there please! I need a little snow in my life.
