Rhythm recently threw a party to celebrate the launch of their 2011/2012 snow line. So we figured we would continue the festivities and give away some brand new gear. For your chance to win their Battista Jacket and Pant (pictured above) just tell us why you think you deserve to win in the comment section below and we will pick the best answer to get hooked up with new Rhythm gear just in time to the 2011/2012 winter season.

    I believe I deserve to win this gear due to the fact that im a broke a$$ college student. I blaim the economy for my gear going downhill. It’s expensive enough to get a pass but to also look good up on the slopes is also another hunk of CASH-O-LA! My pants from I dont even know how many years ago are really starting to make me feel self conscious up on the hill. I would like to not look like a goomba up at my mountain this year.
    P.S.- my pants are so pathetic it looks like some redneck named Cooter’s Ol Sno-mobilin, ice fishin, elk huntin, pond hockey pant. My Jacket is from Salvation army and although it could possibly fly as an airblaster model it really looks like someone took a dump on a trench coat.

    I would like this suit so I can respectfully go in public with my boyfriend who after 6 years has decided to convert to the snowboard side (My best side) and get rid of the sticks . . . for now.

    There is nothing like seeing a boarder go down the hill in pegged pants even though it’s not about what you’re wearing (So I tell him) it’s just that you get down the mountain. Please help a sister out.

    I would love to win this Outerwear because I always rip holes in the crotch of my snowpants somehow and those things get expensive! I also shred a lot of the year all over the place and would love to try something different. Also, this is some of the coolest stuff I’ve ever seen and when you’re feeling/looking like you wanna look, you’re gonna have more fun and get more results. Lastly, I’m tired of having my junk freeze on the chairlift.

I aslo needed a new snowboard, boots, and bindings so i dont have any money to spend on a jacket or pants I spent it on a board so i could at least ride but please dont let me ride in a pair of jeans and sweatshirt.

    I’ve been snowboarding for about 5 years now and I am still using all the gear I had 5 years ago and it doesn’t fit. So if I could get some new gear this year that would be sick. I don’t have any extra money to spend on snowboarding things beacause I have to pay for bills and car insurance and other stupid stuff the like that so I really I hope I can get the gear!

    I’m 16 years old and have been riding for about 5 years. I have never really owned a name brand coat because I can never afford them. I don’t have the money to buy them because I have to help my father pay for the bills and I pay for car insurance. When your only working a part time job that’s pretty much all of my paycheck.     The reason why I think I should win is because I’ve had the same pants for 7 years! They’re some ugly Columbia pants. I need something that performs well and looks just as good (like the above pants/jacket)! Unfortunately I don’t have the money! I barely have enough in the winter (due to college) to even go boarding, let alone purchase new gear. Last year I managed to get some Oakley goggles, that would actually match the jacket above really well! Please oh I’m begging you PLEASE choose me, it’s about time I get some awesome new pants and jacket (which I don’t even have a boarding jacket by the way). I would love SnowboarderMag and Rythm even more thanI already do! And the name of the jacket and pants just rocks…BATTISTA!

I have been using my brothers old gear from a few years ago. I would like some updated gear and something I could really call my own. Last winter it got so cold I had to bundle up so much that I didn’t have the manuverability that I needed to ride like I wanted too. So please!! Pick me and help me out! Thanks sooo much!!

The thing about putting him to shame might mean being stuck in an ice cube for a really long time. So, if that happens I need something very waterproof with taped seems. But I don’t want to look like a fool either. Now, I might let my lady assistant have the pants, cause, frozen jeans are a good way to create effect in the world of illusion.     Well to start things off I’m a broke college student. I’ve wore the same helly hanson pants for the past 4 years and when I bought them they were white, now they’re a weird blue / gray color (I think a pen exploded in a pocket??). And to be honest I don’t even own a nice snow jacket that fits me anymore thanks to my english mastiff puppy last season. I’m blowin’ all my hard earned cash this season on a new board because my custom is beat to all hell, leaving me, once again with no money for some new outerwear.     Phi thinks he’ll have to rock Rhythm’s outfit, because he can’t bear another year with his current one. Holes everywhere! Luckily he can keep himself from getting wet by just ducttaping the holes, sort of vintage you could say.

    His other suit is a one piece from the 80′s, which he bought on ebay. Not really water resistant, but very awesome. He believes it’s time to make place for another aweseome outfit!!!!

    I go to every snowboard premier, I pay for a pass, I support this sport in whatever way possible. I even paid to be in a snowboard group. Don’t get me wrong ten dollars here and there for the premieres, the annual ski pass, and transportation are all well worth my money BUT come on… take a little give a little? ehhhhhh??

We still have a handful of gear to purchase for this season and a new pair of pants and jacket will shave off a shit ton of money that’s needed for helmets and goggles!     I think I deserve to win the gear because I am a very active search and rescue volunteer, and my primary area of responsibility is Mt. Hood. I spend half of my time finding lost boarders, and the other half of the time looking for the ones who aren’t really lost but just went down to Govvy and didn’t tell anyone. The jacket is in my SAR team’s colors, and the pants look sick! I would totally parade my new gear in front of the news cameras every time I have a rescue all season long.

    I deserve this gear because I’ll need it this winter to wear while I volunteer for a program on my local mountain and teach children with disabilities such as autism to snowboard. The only thing i like more than shredding in the park is seeing the look on one of my students faces when they finally connect a turn or ride their first chair lift.     I’ve been snowboarding for 7 years and have had a pretty crappy experience with snowboard gear. All of it has been used gear from a few years back. The only new gear I’ve really had would be gloves and a jacket but I managed to tear both last season. The pants I had also have a tear in the knee caps and it sucks when snow makes its way into those. I would kill to have a new jacket and pants as I don’t have much money to buy new gear.

    I never really have had the money to buy things for years but I strive to come up with it because well snow is my life. I don’t really have alot of moral support form my family, and basically have alot of weight on my shoulders to do everything on my own. I guess it is the adult thing to do. I would really appreciate it if I won this gear, I would be so stoked, for once I wouldn’t have to bust my balls ( Im a girl haha) to strive to get something I need or want. Thanks for your time.     Every year the money I save goes to the same thing,
    A season pass and cheap boots that will last me til spring.
    Im never concerned before the season that I will be cold,
    I think that I wont use my jacket its all ripped up and old.

    The first day on the mountain always makes me freeze,
    Regular jeans and tattered jacket do not block the breeze.
    So I prepare for the next day lining up warm clothes,
    Layers upon layers that should help me if it snows.

    I dont have outerwear so some people think Im dumb,
    Because everyday I leave with my body feeling numb.
    If I had Rhythm Outwear I dont think I would get cold,
    I could enjoy each second of riding and cherish it like gold.

    It is a truly tragic story. This past winter all of my snowboarding gear was stolen by heartless snow ninjas. Those shredding demons ambushed me on the slopes and took all of my hard earned snowboarding outerwear, leaving me to die in the freezing cold. Luckily I was able to find a lone roaming grizzly bear and I wrestled it to the ground later killing it by chomping its neck with my enhanced jaw muscles of awesomeness. I skinned it and used its fur as a coat to keep me warm for the long trek home. After several days of living off raw flying mountain goat meat I was able to make it back to my homestead. I am still lacking proper snowboarding outerwear (I would use the bear hide but I gave that to charity to save starving children in Africa). That is why I deserve this new gear.

    Im a poor college student living in Burlington VT. I would like to be able to get out on the mountains this season, but without any good gear I will end up just freezing or having to stay in the lodge and watch my friends all go out and have a good time

    I gave all my old gear to a homeless little yeti I saw wandering around the mountain. It had no food, no water and some jerk had shaved all its fur off. So how was it supposed to survive? I saw no other choice but to give it my jacket, my pants, my socks… i mean pretty much everything! I have never seen a cooler looking yeti before! but since I gave everything away to the little guy I had to streak back to my dorm. I don’t think the lift people will let me snowboard in boxers so I could seriously use some new gear.

    Because I am a student with no money. Two years ago I bought Rhythm pants and jacket from the Internet with the money I had saved. I have always been very fascinated by skiing and when ever I have had money, I have used it in skiing. In last February I was skiing in Levi, Finland and I skied on a rock and fell. My foot got broken and the pants got broken as well. Now when winter is coming again, I am starting to be able to ski again. My motivation is higher than ever and now I would only need new gear to look good in the slopes!

    Hi’ i’m stevens sister marissa and honestly, my brother could use some help on the hill. He’s good and all but he looks like an idiot because him and his friend both have the SAME jacket and neither one of them can afford to get another one. IT IS SO EMBARRASSING SNOWBOARDING NEXT TO THEM! i leave because i cant take it lol. He’s not old enough to get a job. I’ on the other hand babysit and can afford my own gear, and one christmas, i got him gloves and he conviniently “lost” them.
    he doesnt know i’m entering this but i wanted people who’ve seen my brother to know that i DO care and i’ve tried to tell him and his friend they look stupid. my friend and i had this problem a few years back. she had a black jacket, i had black pants. she had blue pants’ i had a blue jacket—we looked like opposite fools and because of it we wouldnt go together. decent jackets nowadays are over $100, as are pants. every snowboarder knows this and there isn’t much we can do, but a contest like this gives people a chance to be in style without being in debt.
    He also has had the problem of a wet butt after a few runs and ALL of us know how uncomfortable and cold that feels! i just feel like because of the matching outfits’ stevie and his friend will do what my friend Abby and i did a few years back and shy away from the hill because we’re being self conscious. i hope that really doesnt happen but i have been the kind of person that has made fun of a fellow rider and i do know how that feels. winning this contest will be the best thing thats ever happened to this family (well maybe just to my brother).
    that gear is soooo nice and it will be awesome (come ski club)to look over and see my brother IN STYLE and not looking like a goober FOR ONCE. I hope you will consider us, thanks for the opportunity :)

    Wow, so many good stories and just stumbled upon this contest a few hours before closing. Well never have seen Rhythm rocked yet, so be cool to try to rock something different can’t afford any of the new gear this season or last… though have the same sob storiesha as above..broke student, lived in my car and have camped in summer just to ride all summer, rode 12 months a year just to ride last 2 years …yep yep yep. I don’t know, changing your clothes use to be fun to be cause gave you new identity for a momentlol, like if the last season u weren’t landing that jump or rail or u wanted, new clothes new season.. I don’t know, you can be anyone you want when you’re on the hill, just let go. It’s always be a good escape, outlet for me. Have found others, though nothing quite like a few runs through the park on a good day.. it can change your day, you could be hungover, you could not like the way things are going in your life, and you breathe the cold Aspen air, when you see nothing but rich out of towners (not all..but you know what I mean) hustling and bustling, and nothing else seems to matter except what your lucky enough to expierence. It’s like nothing else in life matters for those moments you know? :-)

    I deserve these pants because my pants and jacket were eattin by goats while splitboarding in the backcountry. I tried to fight them off, but I was surrounded. I didnt want to get into details but, It was a long and cold hike, that took everything I had. My friend and I had planned this trip for at least 23 years. We had heard rumors of the wild beast goats in the Olympic mountains, BUT IT WAS A RISK WE WERE WILLING TO TAKE! So we set off, leaving everything we had known, just to get a taste of some powder. (My future wife that I have not met begged me to stay but I said hell to the no me lady friend.) Hours later we had made it to base camp. We set up our tents, got the fire cooking real nice. I opened up a fine bottle of wine and whipped out the steaks, Such a fine meal even George Clooney would have wet his pants. While munching on the goods, we heard some snarling , then some weezing, then some more snarling. When all of the sudden the beasts had shown them selves. There must have been 1 or 4 maybe 100 goats surrounding us. What then happened I can not share on an open site, it is to shameful. To hear the wrest youll have to email me. Have a nice day, dont let the goats bite!
