baselayer giveaway header

We have another Rome Antics Giveaway this week where we are giving away a set of Rome baselayer which includes a logo crew shirt and a midweight pant. Since Rome recently released a remix of Stale Sandbech’s full part from “The Shred Remains” we figured we would do something with that. Watch his remix edit below and let us know what your favorite shot from the edit is and why in the comment section below. We will pick our favorite answer to stay warm with their new set of Rome Baselayer.

Contest ends 3/14/12

defiantly the opening clip is great!

  • Lorissa

At 0:49 seconds. Swoop! By far raddest part!

  • Thomas

The first shoot where he lands in a tail press is soooooo dope.

  • Anna

The night shots from the crew from Germany were sick! The double angles and low street shots made their tricks look prime. (that language pretty much sums it up)

  • Dirk

Going go with the FS360 Indy banger on this. Todd Richards said (on Twitter on Feb. 8), “I think the frontside 360 is universally the best move in action board sports. discuss (and don’t say the method is, because that’s a given)”. I’m gonna go with Todd Richards on this one.

  • Thomas Orona

The opening shot with that huge air! Because it makes me want to grab my board and drive to Tahoe right now and shred till my face falls off.

  • CMG

THE WHOLE REMIX!!! YES ALL CAPS MEANS I’M YELLING!!

  • Joel Otnes

The front 3 at the end. Huge. Stylish. Timeless.

  • Marcel sanchiz

The slow-mo ending is so sick. Flying through the air like a bird. Effortlessly.

  • http://Facebook.com/BILLDEM Bill Dem

I liked the part when he is snowboarding!

  • Natasha

0:47 because I’ve never even heard of, let alone seen, anyone grinding on top of a basketball post before. LINSANITY!!!!

  • Nicholas Wittman

from 1:08 to 1:24 because it shows how much fun he is having with snowboarding aside from just getting his video part filled for the money

  • Rhys

Love that super slow back 3 on that huge kicker to end it. nothing steezier than a super stalled out 3 on a guge jump

  • Ashley

0:18 seconds because he’s so damn sexy and 0:58 seconds should ROCK KNOCK anyone’s socks off!

  • jake

last shot! small spins are so styly and are very underated these days. If you cant double you suck, and thats not right. People only care about how technical tricks are, we can never forget about the rad spins that started snowboarding!!!

  • Trakas Miltiadis

Shot on 01:14 because method is the coolest trick in snowboarding!!!

  • Chris

The massive wire to butter – simple yet but so steezy and because I love Jack Daniels and Rome!

  • Thomas Lynn

1:22 no doubt! Launching off into the powdered trees! Nothing better!

  • http://eghamsbenedict.tumblr.com James

First and last tricks are both mind-blowingly good

  • Alex

The part where he is snowboarding cause snowboarding is cool dawg. Word? Word.

  • Dono

1:56,he was hallin’ balls down that rail!

  • Didzis

The whole part is awesome, so it’s hard to pick, but I liked the last huge stylish 360 in slo-mo the most, cuz’ it’s a helishot in slo-mo and it’s huge.

  • Justen

    The opening shot was sick!

  • Vincent

The whole edit was outstanding because it shows that he hits rails in the streets, and goes out the next day busting double corks, and the next day shredin the powder. Not many riders have this range of talent like Stale does. I would compare him to riders such as Halldor Helgason and Torstein Horgmo. He aslo has full control of himself in the air, so much that he can land in a tail press which is just insanely amazing.

  • Kelsey

The opening tail wheelie!!! why you may ask???
-dramatic entrance!!! Who doesn’t love kicking ass in the beginning?! Especially to some pretty sick music!
P.s. the ending where “the party is closed” is awesome too… not for the boarding, but for the fact that the party is always on.
    Happy standing sideways!

  • Jacy

How can you name one particular clip?????? I am struggling :) def love the jump to the pow covered trees though!

  • Adam Phillips

0:47 the lipslide on the basketball hoop is soooooo badass and the shot is great the Boreal wallride also is a great shot.

  • Noah Brown

I liked it ALL…my little brother, little sisters and I watched it again and again and again. Thanks for that!

  • David J

My favorite shot is the floaty front 3 at the end, captured from a heli. Mmmmm tasty, like heap of steaming cheesy scrambled eggs and crispy crackling thick cut bacon. I find it pleasingly ironic that Stale serves up the freshest plate of tricks. Seconds please!

  • Dan

At 1:00 because of that crazy rail at either Bear or Boreal i think.
He was on that until it had no more to give

  • jerp

that 50-50 front 3 out gap on that friggin huge dfd. It was stomped flawlessly!!!!

  • Francis

I liked the part when he was on a snowboard

  • christian

0:55 is soo sick at first your like huh then he kills it and your like oh its a quarter pipe….. then oh is that in the back country? then….. that is soooo sick and this is innovating

  • Sean

wallride front 1 out at :50 was badass. why? cuz this dude rolls up, tries this trick i don’t even know how many times, sticks with it, stomps it and springs up like a straight g like it ain’t nothin

  • Julie moore

    Nice!
Full of skills…with that in mind..
The best 2 seconds is @1:36,1:37 the break in light, great color flash.
    Whole video is sick though

  • Jordan

That 360 off the down-flat-down was pretty amazing just because almost no one does them off the kink.

  • Leitch

Love the follow cam through that transition line. Pure snowboarding!

  • Ryan W

BY FAR THE BEST PART is the very first clip of homie airing the kicker to tail mannie all the way down the landing with control to the capital T! Go big or go home kids!

  • matt

The best part of this was at 0:47 when he boardslided the top of the backboard on the basketball hoop! MY JAW DROPED! Very creative and just amazing to watch! THE BEST

  • Will

My favorite part is from 0:00-2:43. Dude just drops hammers throught out the whole part. Pure bangers. He killed it.

  • Brandon

that first air into the manual was so buttery smooth and looked liked little effort was needed (Always my favorite type of tricks)
    Keep on shredding!!!

  • Alex

The rhythm section at 1:10. Flow

  • Dave S

The slo-mo shot at the end was sick! The music slows and you really notice how high this dude is. It’s like he was floating in space, man. The whole thing is классно; really smooth riding.

P.S. – Must be nice to have snow! F**kers.. :D

  • Brian

i think the video progresses, from the nose-press to wall ride, the skatepark setup, the 1080 section, and the final 360, oozes with flow. stale bones that board, hard. He holds the grab throughout the whole jump and stomps the landing a little heavy, but stale is a heavy hitter.

  • Calvin

The best was by far the first clip. Straight airs are where it’s at. Grabs ruin tricks. If you can straight air that well you can win any race (the staple of snowboarding).

  • Brent

The blunt on the basketball hoop was sick! All I can do is smoke a blunt and try to shoot hoops.

  • Sean

The front lip on the backboard. Creative deserves its props

  • Cornieh

I love the first jump with the Tailpress at the end…. i love such shit… looks so damn cool!

  • Zak

The whole part was amazing but for me the best shot by far was the the transition line at 1:08 that set up is just so unique and stale rides it with so much flow. Really makes me want to go snowboarding.

  • Brian

Scoring some on the b-ball hoop is pretty slick. Though, when Sandbech’s riding the skatepark setup and the first clip are kickass, too.

  • mařán

definitely 1:08-1:24 for this song fool of action

  • mařán

    sorry full d:)

  • hannes

at 2:19 nicely composed clip, amazing slow motion can fell the adrenaline :)

  • seamus

1:08 because it is so sick that the whole Rome team got to session that awesome Bear set-up. Nothin better than lapping a sick park on a sunny day with the homies.

  • Caio

Definitely the part at 2:12 when he spins 3 and a half times around while grabbing his rail and lands regular stance. First of all props to any one who can spin 3 times around, most of us (including me) can barely make it around once. But the sickist part for me was when I saw him land the huge jump regular stance when he’s goofy. All of this was all happening with a unreal background to the side of him too. So that’s why I picked this part in the clip as my favorite.

  • Jon Archer

I love the bit that starts at 00:00 and finishes 02:43!! Why? Because I wish I could do it all!

  • Flo

Actually you can`t say whats best.
But definitely his first trick. That AWESOME straight air to tailpress.

  • Daniel Gort

I’d love to tell you which shot is my favourite, but its to cold to watch the whole clip… brrrr…

  • Jason

method over hip / choosing Replacements song

  • TomR

The line starting at 1:07 cause filming lines comes from our roots skateboarding and that ia a rad line in a rad bear mtn setup.

  • http://www.fiftyonezero.co.uk Tom Norton

First one in my opinion. Massive air into manual. Fair Play.

  • Toby

tailslide landing at begin, bcs. its verry hard to stick!

  • Rob

first clip. dead sailor to manual down the landing? epic.

  • Mike

Basketball net jib is sick. Lebron and Kobe can put the ball in the net, but lets see them front lip the backboard.

  • Johnny Dag

The slide along the chainlink fence is sick – dude drops onto the concrete wall like he could give a sh*t about his board! Maybe he’s sponsored. Maybe it’s just all about the hit for him.

  • Evan

Urban DFD Staircase with the Frontside 3 outry. Because it’s DOPE and I wish I could shralp that hard without expending that much effort.

  • Yannick

The part where there’s pipes everywhere looks so fun !

  • Holvs

Easily the clip from 1:08-124 is the sickest shot. No one can understand how difficult doing a follow cam is until they do it.
This shot was framed perfectly, keeping the tricks and the rider in frame at all times and no major shakiness that is usually seen in a follow cam.
and also props is given to Stale for being a consistant rider to get that follow cam footy shot of him

  • Ponyboy

My favorite is the shot of him back rolling off the side of the kicker in the beginning because the trick is creative and the angel looks tight with the sun behind him

  • http://temposnowboarding.com Mason Bradford

My favorite shot would have to be the opening scene. Its so huge and the way he rides out on the back for so long is ridiculous. Definitely Wanna land that one day.

  • Connor

There are a ton of good shots, but in the end it came down to two for me. It was between the opening clip where he butters down the whole landing and the boardslide from 1:00-1:08. The rail looks mad complicated and the double angle that it is shot at is pretty sick; however, I have to go with the opening clip. Even though he just airs the jump, he does it with steez, and then his butter is HUGE. Plus i respect that trick cuz I’ve tried it and got completely rocked

  • max

Easily the straight air to tailpress. that was sick, never seen a straight air to tailpress that was so pressed for so long.

  • Christopher Winze

I think this double backflip or double rodeo, can´t really identify what it is, is the best shot in this part because it just looks awesome and I like the perspective

  • Andrea

I think the part that really impressed me not about technique but about style is the BS Boardslide on the basket (at 0:46) because for me snowboarding is a lot about style… A triple cork is sick but a giant method grad has that old fashion look of an old veteran that will always be there and can’t get replaced!

  • Marcelo

    The slide at 0:51

  • Megan Palmer

1:09 to 1:25. It’s such a smooth park sequence and it has everything in it!

  • JoeyP.

That Z-rail..! Psh. Homie kicked its D’ in the snow. Crispy. No Yobeat hate here, doe.

  • Michael Smith

I thought the opening clip of the straight air was sick. that is crazy air time and the wheelie was insane!

  • CodyL

(2:01) was RAD, i could watch it over and over and stay hyped. 5050 front3 STOMP! gnar!

  • Dylan

    2:05-2:32. BIIIIIIIIIG air.

  • Yoshi

0:50 wall ride 180 out, such smooth filming, such smooth trick. GNAR!

  • Enarf

That front three was RAD, would rather see that as an ender than any other trick a nice floaty front three, and he sends it deep into the landing!!!

  • Jessica

I like the backflip at 1:17 because it goes PERFECTLY with the music! I love that shit!

  • Damien Loy

the opening big air! thats the type of style that made me take up snowboarding

  • newbrough

when he’s walking up the stairs at the triple set. it’s all artsy and shit. even when he’s walking up the stairs, he’s going fast. guy likes to charge it.

  • Steve

Method at 1:13. Methods are a lost art!

  • Phil

The straight air to 5-0 was awesome…it was all downhill after that!

  • Eric

Right off the bat, the manual landing was super sexy and executed perfectly. No fear or doubt, he stomps it and rides off like it ain’t no thang. Definitely my favorite shot, I jizzed in my pants.

  • connor

line through that setup at bear mountain. super smooth and rad as hell

  • TJ

Opening jump to pressing that tail… Travis Parker style

  • Jordan

The opening shot butter down the entire landing was the cherry on top

  • Jordan

The opening shot butter down the entire landing was insane in the membrane

  • Brent Colley

The wall ride on the 49th second, that was so sick i just loved how creative it was. It was all time.

  • http://www.facebook.com/KYYYLLLEEEE?ref=tn_tnmn kyle

the first FS 1080. that was ssteeeeezzzz

  • Brown

I liked that fatty boardslide on the basketball hoop because I’ve never seen that done before

  • Alex

The method over the hip at 1:12 is by far the best trick, looks so sick against the sky, it’s pure style. There’s nothing better than a stylish method, nothing. If anybody says differently, I will find them and cut them.

  • http://snowboardermag.com Alex

def. the mini mctwist at 1:18, so sick!

  • Keiron

The dirty streight air to tail press (was it done switch as well?) pure style and some sweet air to start

  • Daniel R.

0:29 because it ironically says “burn” in the background, while Stale is doing a trick that I can’t do, at least not yet.

  • shane

All of it. Its all pretty sick, too hard to pick favorites…!

  • Joel Man bro dude

I want to say the first shot, striaght air to 5-0 but i think alot of people already said that. THe basket ball hoop was pretty dope, Dont think Ive seen that one before.

  • Jack Moran

My favorite part is when he hits that old lift at boreal. Although nobody was jibbing lifts back in the day, jibbing was born from hitting anything at your disposal on the mountain.

  • http://none GE

1:32 I like that big 3 in naturally terain. Got Style and steep landing.

  • Slatts

This trailer was pretty dope, I love the backcountry kicker but I gotta go with the first scene, that straight air was so fucking smooth with the tail press landing

  • Brady

I liked where he did that triple cork on that booter. Oh wait he didn’t do a triple cork. Is this guy even good. Joking he tears it up. My favorite part has got to be that big air 360 mute slow rotation ender.

  • Nette

love the scene at 1:52 where u can see how pretty this boy is ;) that he can ride with a lot of style everyone knows already…

  • Matt

19 second mark because Snowboarder Mag was reppin that jump

  • Gabe

    :48 was a slam dunk!
