Kazuhiro Kokubo is one of the most influential yet often overlooked riders of our generation, because he’s as explosive and intimidating on the hill as he is quiet and reserved off of it. Since his monumental appearance at the 2003 US Open, when he was just a miniature import in a floppy-eared cap who beat Danny Kass, Andy Finch, Steve Fisher, and Shaun White in his dominant charge to a second-place finish behind Ross Powers, he’s made a gargantuan impact on the international snowboard scene.
