1999 was the third time that the modern incarnation of Superpark took place. This year Mammoth was the host and the Unbound staff under the guidance of Josh Chauvet stepped up the scene to truly reflect the name. The marquee feature was a 112-foot jump that many tried to tame including a young Jesse Burtner. Still, despite having to get towed by a snowmobile and cut a hard heelside turn into the dish of the takeoff Kurt Wastell was the only rider able to tackle what has come to be commonly known as the Berserker.
