Boreal Team Video Challenge: Round 1

The Boreal Team Video Challenge is back this year and bigger than ever. Eight teams were preselected to come ride and film at Boreal’s amazing early season park. Now, the teams will go head-to-head in a bracket-style knockout format for the chance to with $5,000! All you have to do is vote for your favorite video in each round. The winner of the snowboard Team Video Challenge will the go up against the winning ski team, featured on newschoolers.com, at a premiere party held at Boreal on Saturday night, January 7.

The first two crews in the Team Video Challenge are bHappy vs. Smokin Snowboards. bHappy won last years Team Video Challenge. The Smokin Snowboards team, featuring Kyle Clancy, Jeff Kramer, and crew, are ready to take out the reigning champs. Do they have what it takes? That’s all up to you, so watch the videos and place your vote.

    To Smokin: the point of sliding rails, is to make it to the end of the rail. Also typically in videos you show people landing tricks…. not just coming close. weak.

    the MAIN problem with the smokin video was that you cant hear the riding sounds…that ruins ANY video..you need to hear that shit…o well..they are still the best snowboard company and have the best product out..REAL RECOGNIZE REAL..bryce dyland max and all them fools kill it but i cant co sign their video

    Rad edits everyone! bHappy is slaying it with the synchronized shredding, while in the Smokin vid Max’s boardslide through the giant log with a donkey is probably the gnarliest single trick in either video (The gap to/through the kink doubles line on the dfd is proper as well though). bHappy has the more polished edit and the diverse well directed content no question, but the couple of hammers that shine through in the Smokin vid are solid for an early season park edit. Regardless; everybody looks like they are having a blast, keep ripping!

    Smokin’Snowboards is the shit and I support them all day, but come on guys… Bryce, you pull out early on EVERY single rail man! Now that I watched it again the edit reminds me of Big Hit’s east vs. west video last year… just sloppy!!

    video quality: bHappy wins with polished, Smokin’ loses 240p youtube quality
    music: tied, though bHappy themed music offers slightly more entertainment than Smokin’ instrumental
    audio: Smokin loses, audio is nearly non-existent
    trick tech: bHappy wins if you ranked tricks and put them head-to-head
    trick style: Smokin’ loses, they don’t land nearly half the tricks (come off early)
    trick shock & awe: while Smokin’ had the few big scary tricks for the shock, bHappy had much more awe with A LOT of synchronized snowboarding and they landed these moves much cleaner than the big shock ticks by Cmokin’
    flow: whatever, tie

    Point: Smokin’ beat themselves before bHappy had to.
