Back in 2007, I was taking a break from riding at Mountain High getting some grub and watching the NFL Wildcard match up between the Colts and the Chiefs. I had just finished my food and remarked to my friend that we should get back to riding after the next TD. Shortly thereafter, Peyton Manning throws a dime to Reggie Wayne for a score. Satisfied, I headed out to retrieve my board from the spot on the wall that I had left it at only to find that some punk kid was trying to walk off with it. I chased him down and grabbed my board from his hands while yelling expletives at him the whole time causing quite a scene. The kid tells me that it’s his board and that he was going to get his “dad” to prove it. As he walks away a security guard walks by and asks me, “Did that kid try to steal your board?” After I respond in the affirmative, the guard takes off on a sprint and tackles the thief into the hard ice. After putting him in handcuffs and taking him to the security office, they find that this kid and his “dad” had stolen seven other boards, and they were stashing the boards in the back of their truck. All in all, I stopped these thieves from walking away with several grand worth of snowboards and bindings, and they were promptly taken to jail and later imprisoned for grand theft. Good guys win!
