Quick question on the HDHR winnings….

Above is written: Cash purse is 15 big ones! All broken down it’s $10,000 for 1st place, $3,000 for 2nd, $1,000 for 3rd and for the ladies it’s a grand.

Why for the ladies is it a grand? There are a few women snowboarders on that list… Is this a challenge for them to try for 1st place?

Just curious. Wasn’t sure if any other LADY SNOWBOARDERS seen this and wondering if they’re going to have to ummmm appear and challenge? I am just a newbie and curious………
