One Life Wednesdays: Argentina

January 12

//

Every other Wednesday, right here on SNOWBOARDERmag.com, there will be a new webisode from the ladies of One Life featuring Kjersti Buaas, Sarka Pancochova, Jamie Anderson, Chanelle Sladics, and friends. This first edit follows the ladies in Argentina. See below to read what Chanelle has to say about the trip.

“My Little Footprint, Keep-a-Breast, and Protect our Winters collaborated in supporting our One Life project in Argentina in August 2010 at the South America Snow Sessions.  Inspired to support the community of Bariloche, and the earth that gives us so much, we, One Life, and friends, built a greenhouse out of recycled plastic bottles, and bamboo from the local forest.  We collected bottles for 2 days, cut lots of bamboo, rode epic powder, shared yoga, and threw a concert to celebrate our eco adventures.

FACTS:
1. our greenhouse will yield 10% faster crop growth,
2. those plastic bottles will not be burnt into atmosphere, and
3. we are helping with the local produce issues…we hope to inspire you to recycle, reuse, and reduce your footprint on the earth we all share!

One Love, One Life!  For more info check out ThisisOneLife.com”

    Very nice vid. Nice activity. But flying a crew to Argentina and rent a helicopter produces quite a lot emissions. I advice you to choose some more effective activities than just building one greenhouse. E.g. plant a thousand trees with local council and kids. Or talk the UN commissioners into cancelling the Olympics, since they are nonsense, waste money and produce nonsense emissions.
