When the topic of style in snowboarding is brought up, two names that are almost always mentioned are those of Tarquin Robbins and Joni Makinen. Two of today’s riders that are pushing the mold in terms of style, are no doubt Scott Stevens and Jess Kimura. Mix all four together on a trip to snow domes and you have great look at what makes snowboarding cool and a truly “legendary” trip.

Capita Devours Everything As 2012 Battle Of The Brands Champion
With BOTB PTSD starting to set in Snowboarder Magazine would like to congratulate the Capita Super Corporation for devouring everything in our 2012 Battle Of The Brands Superpark 16 video showdown. Through two months of fierce digital democracy the Capita corps carried momentum from one head-to-head bout to the next leaving formidable foes like Nike, Smokin' and Thirtytwo in their wake. The week long finals against the enviro crusaders of Arbor was a media melee for the ages with 7878 votes cast to decide which team from Superpark 16 will be enjoying the spoils of Squid Roe while partaking in the first place prize of a trip for 5 to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
Arbor's Battle Of The Brands entry and social push seemed unstoppable as the nearly six minute long edit rolled past Bataleon, K2 and Volcom to the final matchup. Despite Scott Vine's one-footers on hundred-footers, Erik Leon's irie ollie's and arguably the best execution of the snake run slush slash follow cam of the whole event Arbor's submission ultimately succumbed to Capita's creation. Defenders Of Awesome Brendan Gerhard, Durrell Williams, Kyle Fisher, Brendon Rego, Andrew Burns, Garett Warnick, Phil Jacques, Brandon Cocard, Jess Kimura, and Dustin Craven performed for the lens of Mark Dangler at Mt Bachelor last Spring with pure style and intense ability resulting in an edit that is proper from start to finish. Behind the scenes Capita's director of Product Development and US Marketing Manager Sean Tedore mobilized the FK'n faithful to watch, vote and rally others for support en masse. For the 2012 Superpark 16 Battle of The Brands video showdown Capita came to the table with the complete package and is most deserving of first place and the free trip for 5 to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico that accompanies the title! Snowboarder wishes to salute the 16 companies who took part in the Battle Of The Brands as well as the riders, filmers and supporters who created spectacular videos and were eager to lobby for and broadcast their ballots. Furthermore Snowboarder would also like to thank Gatorade and Mt. Bachelor as well as all of the riders, builders, media representatives and companies who made Superpark 16 a success. Click here to see all of the edits from the 2012 Battle Of The Brands.
