Born in North Lake Tahoe, Johnny Lazz has transcended from mini-shred to local hero in under a decade. Part of the young crew pushing the rail riding revolution years ago, Johnny has recently moved up to the big leagues, going pro for Rome and moving his technical trickery to natural terrain.

The last weekend of the 2012/13 season at Mammoth was an epic ender to the winter, with the WCI Game of S.N.O.W. World Championships and the Fourth Annual Eddie Wall Ride Invitational. Mophie was there, not only to keep cell phones running and to provide the wallride for Eddie's contest, but also to make an edit of the weekend.

Mammoth Mountain, Monster Energy, and SNOWBOARDER Magazine brought sixteen of the best rail riders in the world together to play a few rounds of S.N.O.W. and crown a World Champion. The level of riding that went down was absolute insanity, but in the end, Johnny Lazz walked home with $10,000, gold headphones, a new iPad, a sweet belt and the title of Game Of Snow World Champion. You really have to watch the video to see just how crazy all of the tricks that were thrown back to back and on command really were.

The latest chapter of Volcom’s #IP2 Series showcases the recent recipient of the “Best Frog” award at the 2012 Reels Film Festival, Arthur Longo. Many people know Longo from his 2010 Vancouver Olympic appearance, but outside the pipe this Frenchman has mad pow skills. In this part Longo drops dicey cornice lines, redirects onto frozen waves, FT stomps at least three tricks and chucks the biggest backside 180 caught on film this year. Joining Arthur in this edit are Markus Keller, Griffin Siebert, Johnny Lazzereschi, Marco Grigis, Marc Swoboda, Mike Rav and Luke Mitrani.

The Launch continues to be both the stomping grounds and proving grounds for some of the best up-and-coming young talent in Snowboarding. From it's debut in 2008 at the Northstar-At-Tahoe it has attracted the likes of Mark McMorris, Zak Hale, Sage Kotsenberg, and more who seem to be household names in the world of snowboarding today. However this may have not always been the case before they attended this event, and that is one thing that makes The Launch what it is. The playing field is leveled, and young riders are given the opportunity to really stand out and make an impression. Speaking of standing out, we have compiled some of our favorite photos from the past years of The Launch in order to hype up the upcoming event at Bear Mountain, April 3rd-6th.
