Rider Profiles: Scott Vine

August 10

//

One of 7 children, Scott’s compulsive need to progress may stem from wanting to be the star of the siblings, however, we’re sure if Scott has this much talent on hill, his family has tricks we don’t even know about. A standout performer at Southern California resorts, Scott has been making big moves out of the park and can be seen taking on new terrain in “This Video Sucks.”

The epic riding continues at Superpark 17 presented by Gatorade with riders stacking clips during Day 4 at Mt. Bachelor. Riders have been taking full advantage of all of the features built by Woodward, Loon, Bachelor, and Seven Springs and the results has been insane. New Year’s High Resolution – Superpark

New Year’s High Resolution – Superpark

December 31, 2012

Despite the fact that many of the features at Superpark are among the heaviest in any park during a given season, the atmosphere is far from serious. There's a plethora of perfectly-groomed features and the best snowboarders in the world--a combination for fairly limitless creativity. No matter if the gaggles of riders are stomping doublecorks on a 100-footer or lapping in trains and tranny-finding, the end result is some of the best and most fun snowboarding of the season.

Scotty Vine: Full Part

Scotty Vine: Full Part

No matter how outside the box and seemingly impossible the trick, when Scott Vine sets his mind to doing something, the dude is gonna either do it or die trying. Seriously. When some riders do the one-foot schtick it gets construed as circus stunts, but Scott's unstrapped antics are so big and smooth that you can't do anything but respect the skill, style, and consequence. It is hard saying if we like the fs 180 one-footer on Boreal's sixty-foot tabletop at the one minute mark or Scott's FS 5 one-foot ender more, but either way they are both mint! Below are a few words from Scott about filming last season.

"Filming a solo video part has given me the opportunity to meet and work with a wide variety of people that I don't think I would have just working with the same crew all year. But the filming side of snowboarding is not an individual sport. It requires a crew, and over fifty people directly or indirectly helped make this video possible. I spent my season chasing the snow through California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Washington, and Oregon over a five-month period dealing with non-stop dry spells and rain along the way. The strategy was to put in a constant effort and somehow make it work at least fifty percent of the time, whether it snowed or not. At one point, I doubted whether or not I would even have a part this year. I put all my focus into filming for this project. It's like a gamble, but I didn't stop trying until I was coughing up blood, and this is what came out of it." -Scotty Vine
