Superpark Showdown 2011: Keep The Change VS Sandbox

June 22

//

At the onset of the fourth Superpark® Video Showdown matchup SNOWBOARDER encountered a glitch with the backend coding of our “like” button system. SNOWBOARDER’s top notch nerds as well as Mark Zuckerbergs elite Facebook nerds discovered this problem early in the voting process on Wednesday morning and immediately began working diligently to remedy the situation. With the coding now deemed up to code and any potential discrepancies alleviated, this faceoff begins anew.

The fouth matchup of the Superpark® 15 Video Showdown presented by Gatorade has two top contenders dueling to take one step closer to the $5,000 first place prize. With over 800 snowboardermag.com visitors voicing their opinions via the “Like” style voting for the first faceoff, we feel compelled to recap the process by which you can decide the fate of one of these two Superpark® 15 filmmakers. Below each video featured here is an icon that presents an opportunity to “Like” the corresponding submission. Simply click the “Like” for the edit you like more. Voting will end 6/25/11 at 5PM PST.

Keep The Change
Eastern Boarder, the legendary shop behind the much-anticipated “Keep the Change” film has done it again with their Superpark® Showdown submission. By “done it again,” we mean focused simply on shredding, rather than fancy editing tactics and post-production facades. In other words, “Keep the Change” keeps it simple with some of the best riding we’ve seen in an edit thus far. One of the reasons that it may be some of the best riding we’ve seen is because there’s such a large quantity of it. Seriously, this video has more riders than all the other edits put together, and that’s attributed to the man behind the camera, Mr. Colton Feldman; a top-notch guy. Colton was running around Superpark® as a man on a mission. His mission was to capture more riding than any other videographer in attendance, and in our opinion, he succeeded…triumphantly. Sit back and watch (in order) Peter Line, Pat Burgener, Ted Lavoie, Riley Nickerson, Parker Duke, Max Warbington, Ben Bilocq, Scott Vine, Seth Hill, Blake Geis, Sam Taxwood, Griffin Siebert, Blake Paul, Gus Warbington, Matt Belzile, Jeff Kramer, Ted Borland, Scott Blum, a sans-highback Alex Stathis, LNP, Alex Beebe, Dylan Dragotta, Tanner Davidson, Jake Kuzyk, Forest Baliey, and a special ender from the Shawn Farmer. If you like this edit, click the “Like” link…but you knew that already.

Sandbox
Kevin Sansalone and Clayton Larsen are the figureheads behind Canada’s Sandbox. Ever since the Lake Louise Superpark® days, Sandbox has been a strong supporter of this annual gathering. In 2011 they again added a stop at Mt. Bachelor to the filming schedule for their new release Day And Age which is due out this fall. In addition to a crew of heavy Canucks and hungry newcomers, Sandbox brought Kirk Bereska to Superpark®. Kirk’s claim to fame in this arena is that he has documented more Superpark® events than any other filmer on earth. In case you are wondering which one Kirk is, he is easily recognized by the skis he wears and his work has captured the smoothest follow cams to date. He also appeared in two photos in last year’s print feature. For the 2011 Superpark® Video Showdown, Sandbox chose to focus on the exploits of Jon Versteeg, Steve Cartwright, Clint Allan and a few other notable shreds. Even Rusty Ockenden made it to the big booter show. This rare park appearance by Rusty is actually his first since Superpark 2010. Seriously. Before Mt. Bachelor the last time Rusty even rode into any park was in Mammoth 12 months before. This means that Rusty “likes” Superpark as well as Sandbox and should be reason enough for you to “like” this edit.

About Superpark Showdown

All told, there are 16 film companies in contention, each with hopes of advancing all the way to the end of the brackets where they will receive the $5,000 grand prize courtesy of Gatorade. Are you kidding me, I wanted to kill the makers of that song and then use their bodies to kill their families for making such crappy music. Oh, and the riding in the edit was boring as fuck too, superpark was lame this year.

  • upstatemike.

sandobox’s reminded me of snowboarding 5-7 years ago. and that’s not a good thing. step it up. KTC all the way.

  • I agree with Pablo

KTC’s had so many rail shots I wanted to puke. Rails are nice but this is SUPERPARK not the inner city. They can be hitting massive hips and jumps, why are they wasting their time? Sandbox had the better edit.

  • pablo an you can suck 10 dicks

  • ![]F

KEEP DA CHANGE BITCH TIM THOMAS FOR PRES.

  • TedK

I wonder how many of those pro KTC fags were just Colton pushing his whack ass style? Film burns= played out. 8minutes of the weakest superpark to date= bad form. Lack of tight shots= lack of confidence. KTC should start keeping their own change cause they gonna need in about a year when their full length flops like Forest Bailey’s style. Sanbeezy for reezy.

  • Cole st. martin

well we clearly now have a better understanding of keep the change according to Ted K, he should be thanked for his positive insight! keep the comments coming bud!

  • pen15

TedK is a herb. prolly wears saga and rides a status.

Tedk, I am terribly sorry that you think my style is “wack”. I am also sorry to hear that you did not enjoy the edit Rob Balding and myself produced. I always keep my change.

  • soggy

spittin bub on titties? great garage band track

  • TedK

Colton, clearly you’re insecure about your shit if you feel the need to defend it against faceless haters on the internet. Get back on your fixie and keep hustlin for American Spirits you tool. Tell all your schoolyard minions to go read a book and leave their hard-ons for meaningless snowboard edits in the foster home.

  • colton

I appreciate the constructive criticism. We tried to do our best at documenting Superpark and I apologize that you didn’t enjoy our video.

  • FoOl

Tedk, how many dicks do you currently have in your ass? KTC has got way more support, end of story. You’re comments are not getting sandbox anymore votes.
