Superpark Showdown 2011: Wildcard VS Keep The Change

When the voting gets heated the tally gets glitchy. Despite strong support being shown to both Wildcard and Keep The Change, it became apparent to SNOWBOARDER that the coding in place to promote each voter’s pick may not have been, er, up to code. Having to restart a Showdown is something that makes us click the “Unlike” tab as much as anyone, but in order to promote fairness we need an even playing field for both films to be promoted properly.
With the problem fixed, SNOWBOARDER has reposted both Superpark® 15 edits from Wildcard and Keep The Change. This means that everyone is eligible to vote for the better of these two 2011 Superpark® Video Showdown submissions. This new faceoff will conclude at 11:59pm on Saturday the 16th of July with results being announced Monday the 18th.

Wildcard Movies
Wildcard has been flying the flag for the Northwest scene for a few seasons now. As the evolution of Soundstrait Productions and Funner Films, Wildcard has created a cult following among shred film viewers looking for top-level production values to match the talent onscreen. The skits in their latest release, The Saturday Night Ride, are some of the best ever to appear in a snowboard movie. For their Superpark® 15 Video Showdown submission, Wildcard focused on the action with original angles of some of the most talked about tricks of the week including Scott Blum’s Andrecht and Scott Vine’s one-foot 720. Longtime Wildcard player Pat McCarthy throws a heave-ho and adds some narrative to the package while riders like Seth Hill, Stefan Krumm, and Joe Mango make their mark at Mt. Bachelor. Witness LNP land his first McTwist ever at 2:30. This alone is reason to click the “Like” badge below their edit.
Keep The Change
Eastern Boarder, the legendary shop behind the much-anticipated “Keep the Change” film has done it again with their Superpark® Showdown submission. By “done it again,” we mean focused simply on shredding, rather than fancy editing tactics and post-production facades. In other words, “Keep the Change” keeps it simple with some of the best riding we’ve seen in an edit thus far. One of the reasons that it may be some of the best riding we’ve seen is because there’s such a large quantity of it. Seriously, this video has more riders than all the other edits put together, and that’s attributed to the man behind the camera, Mr. Colton Feldman; a top-notch guy. Colton was running around Superpark® as a man on a mission. His mission was to capture more riding than any other videographer in attendance, and in our opinion, he succeeded…triumphantly. About Superpark Showdown
The Superpark® Showdown is presented by Gatorade. This interactive contest is a weekly video faceoff where two Superpark edits go head to head with the victor being decided by you, the snowboardermag.com viewer. The entry that receives the most votes each week advances to the next round. All told, there are 16 film companies in contention, each with hopes of advancing all the way to the end of the brackets where they will receive the $5,000 grand prize courtesy of Gatorade.
