Superpark Showdown: SixEleven Productions vs Matt Roberge

235 years after our forefathers decided that English was a great language but a less than favorable nationality, SNOWBOARDER Magazine is here to remind you that Independence Day is about more than fireworks, domestic light beer and two-man water balloon launchers. The 4th of July is about celebrating Democracy! Before doing anything else this Sunday, think of all those people who lost their lives to preserve your freedom and pay them tribute by casting your Superpark Sunday Showdown ballot. Then on Monday, while you are paying the price for getting drunk on Democracy and domestic light beer, cast another Superpark Sunday Showdown ballot. Then keep doing so day in and day out until those people who are trying to thwart the American way of life are no more, or The Superpark Sunday Showdown has ended, whichever comes first.
Week 4 is now upon us and we have two more Superpark Sunday Showdown contenders, with SixEleven Productions going head-to-head against Matt Roberge. Vote for your favorite video and help them advance to the next round and potentially win $5,000 compliments of Gatorade. Voting is allowed each day, so check back to make sure your favorite is winning. Voting will end 7/9/10 at midnight.

Incepted in the summer of 2004, Mike Peterson’s SixEleven Productions was founded in the high country of Colorado. Ride Snowboards enlisted them to tag along with their team for Superpark 14 and the end results can be seen here in this 4 minute and 55 second tour de force. Their unique take on a shred soundtrack is provided by Steve Capria, who drops both knowledge (Electrolytes, Ride’s inception in 1992, snowflakes) and names (Hardingham, Hironaka, Van Gogh, Toutant and Swanson) while spitting unique Superpark-specific lyrics. Be sure to watch this whole entry because Brennan Swanson’s groundbreaking double cork on a quarterpipe is showcased from multiple angles and Ride’s TM Matt Sickels provides the ender-ender.

What kind of a man is Matt Roberge? The kind of man who stands behind his projects and puts them out there for the world to see under his own name. Roberge doesn’t hide behind some slick company header like Videograss, Variety Pack or Vivid. Matt’s Superpark short is a two-song escapade that is part homey video and part highlight reel. Standouts like Guldemond, Thompson, Craven, Swanson and Sorsa are spliced alongside Easties including Bailey, Hulbert, Langlois, Farrell and S.C.O. Dubbs. Other notables include a 12-year-old Kyle Mack doing the largest air a kid his age ever has right to the knuckle where he proceeds to bounce into the second biggest air a kid his age has ever done. To top it off, Roobs also includes clips of Hana Beaman, Anne-Flore Marxer and Jamie Anderson!
About Superpark Sunday Showdown
The Superpark Sunday Showdown is presented by Gatorade. This interactive contest is a weekly video faceoff where two Superpark edits go head to head with the victor being decided by you, the snowboardermag.com viewer. The entry that receives the most votes each week advances to the next round. All told, there are 16 film companies in contention, each with hopes of advancing all the way to the end of the brackets where they will receive the $5,000 grand prize courtesy of Gatorade.
