The second stop of the 2012 Superpass Series was held this past weekend at Mountain Creek Resort in New Jersey. Mountain Creek put together an amazing setup, featuring a massive 60 foot jump, followed by a 45 foot jump, into a perfectly shaped hip.
Top riders from the Tri-State area showed up eager to win an invite to Superpark 16. The competition was fierce, with riders pushing one another to send it off the massive features. While the level of riding was intense, the vibe of the event was pretty laid back. All the competitors know each other and ride together on a daily basis. These guys are proud to call Mountain Creek their home mountain, and the resort reciprocates those feelings, creating a great snowboard community.
At the end of the day, Eric Ryan emerged victorious, winning an invite to Superpark 16. Congratulations to Eric and the rest of the competitors. Big thanks to Mountain Creek for putting on an amazing event, along with CAPiTA, Union Bindings, SPY, and High Cascade Snowboard Camp.

Mark, with all due respect I'm sure that your crew work very hard. I never said that"I" had a better plan or had the ability of building a better park. I was pointing out that the park isn't all that great the past few years and the creativity leaves alot to be desired when compared to 7Springs, Boulder, Snow, etc. While I may not have the gameplan you are looking for, I'm sure these other parks can give you some ideas to step up your game. Been riding creek for 10 years and while the total number of parks has increased, the quality and variety have definitely decreased over the years. Not meant to be an insult, just reality. Have you personally visited these other resorts this season? If not, you should. Then you'll understand.

Put your money where your mouth is Jake G. My crew builds events for MC and all of the features for the park. Come in to the shop one day and give me your game plan on how you can run a better operation here in NJ and I'll gladly shake your hand.

mt snow and 7 springs are definitely killing it this year. But who cares? It's snowboarding. Doesn't matter what setup is better just shut up and be happy there's snow on the ground. While your busy bitching the snows melting.

Jake g is just mad cause he probably failed the test to get a park pass. Clearly doesn't know what he's talking about. Go ride hidden valley

Funny comments here.. "best park in the east"? "legitimate", "Most hard working"? Wow, you guys need to ride more.... there are soo many parks in the east that make the creek look like the big tirdpile that it is...Boulder, Snow, 7Springs, the list goes on. Who'ever built this years setup, event or otherwise, needs to visit some of the other resorts to see what's good these days. The setups at creek are old, tired and soooo 2007.

I bet JakeG doesn't even ride. Get a life. Jib lab and Mountain Creek are killing it this year. Best park in the east hands down.
February 7
JakeG what are you talking about? Mark doesnt build the park at creek anymore he runs jiblab and builds the event setups only, which are the best and only legitimate part of creeks parks. and the park crew this year is the most hard working group ive ever seen there

Yeah Ricccck!!! holdin' it down for the eastside!

I wouldn't exactly call a 63 footer "small"

Fun event thanks to Snowboarder, but the setup was very bland and kinda small. Not sure what's going on at creek, but each year the park gets worse and worse. Time to get rid of Mark and the current lazy park crew and hire some pros, or at least people that can actually snowboard & build a quality park.

I definitely think the setup at Creek rivals Mount Snow, all things considered. I'd much rather lap creek in mild temps and no wind then ride that wind blown and bullet proof setup at Carinthia. JakeG you should chill out- have you ever worked park crew or even in mountain operations? It's not a cake walk dude, especially with the amount of traffic that place sees. South gets beat to shit daily and its always prime if you're there the next morning at 12 (mid week) when it opens. I never ride weekends at Creek so I can't speak for that but for 50 min from my house it can't be beat. No way am I driving out to Big Boulder of 7springs for shred...there's not even any vertical.
