Seattle, Washington is best known for globalizing grunge and boasting more baristas per square foot than any other city in the States. Aside from flash-in-the-pan music trends and strung-out Starbucks hipsters, Seattle has been a key catalyst in kick-starting the Northwest snowboard scene—mainly with shops like evo. What you see on 122 NW 36th Street wasn’t always so glitz and glam, though. Evo started off as mom-and-pop as they come, in a warehouse that, prior to evo’s introduction, was utilized as storage space for fryolators and ice cream machines. But with a little elbow grease and a lot of diligence, it has become a merchandise Mecca for Seattle’s shred populace. Stop on by if you’re in the area; there’s always something going on, whether it’s a gallery opening, movie premiere, or even the occasional concert. The good people at evo are down to hook you up with everything you need to stay high, dry, and extra fly this winter.
