THAT WASN’T IT, THAT WASN’T ALLThe impresario behind Brain Farm Productions returned to his Absinthe roots after a two-season hiatus in which he rewrote the definition of snowboard filmmaking. Rice’s return to Absinthe in Neverland is awesome—tech tricks in consequential lines are intertwined with raw clips that show Rice can still get loose. Nonetheless, all of this meaty Neverland footage is saddled by what is best described as fruity lifestyle shots, which apparently didn’t deter two-time X Games slopestyle gold medalist Andreas Wiig from declaring, “Really sick part in Neverland, with an amazing ender shot. Travis also looked really comfy on that horse.”

Who has two thumbs and thinks Travis Rice should win the X Games big air? Anyone who text-voted for him over Torstein Horgmo last season.

DEEPER THOUGHTS

Rice also spent a month last winter far from the glitz of Aspen and the heli laps of Absinthe off the grid in Alaska with Jeremy Jones, filming for the two-year TGR epic Deeper. According to Jones, the patriarch of off-piste precision, “I was blown away by his freeriding in AK this year. His attitude was even better. He was the MVP of the trip.”
