Trick Tip: Switch BS 900 With Eric Willett

SNOWBOARDER is bringing you a series of how-to snowboard videos to help fill up that bag of tricks, and help you learn how to ride that snowboard a little better.

Big things are happening for Eric Willett. After impressive finishes in last year’s contest circuit, Quiksilver just brought him on their team. It might be a bit early in the season to start throwing switch backside 900′s, but maybe you can listen to what Eric has to say and start trying them by jumping on your bed? If your bed breaks, it’s not our fault. Watch and learn.

I agree with liky dee, most the time trick tips are way to general. i think there is huge demand for such videos, if done right, but editors and riders need to step it up and start explain all the small details they take for granted when doing big tricks. That being said, this trick tip was better than many other edits ive seen

Snowboarding trick tips in my opinion is damn stupid. But then again, I did pick out a couple nice little reminders about my riding. Bending your hip joint really does engages a strong carve into your pre spin, which is undesirable. spotting the trick mid spin, definetly will help me with this when im learning nines some day. These are the little details that need to be taught. Other than that, a 'trick tip' for a switch back 9 is un-necessary. I think the most will be gained if the trick tips are organized through learning carves, spins, flips, corks, basic jib tricks...all in a single video though. Like '5050's, board slides, presses and lip slides' in one episode, and maybe 'switch ups, front boards, back lips, and spinning on and off' in another video...etc

Haha yeah a trick tip for a switch back 9 is sorta unnecessary - I agree 100% w/ Dee - dudes who are spinnin' switch backside already understand what it takes to get the 9, but it is kinda nice to see what's up from a different perspective...

liky dee, are you saying you've been riding a snowboard for 20 years or your mom? That trick tip was actually pretty good, he gave a few more tips than "go fast and umm grab and ummmmm". But its hard to give anyone else props when when all you do is think your the shiz. You're the only one lookin dumb...

Ha! Trick tips are funny... in my 20 years of riding I've only ever seen one or two usefull trick tips where the rider actually gives you some tips that work and/or help you learn the trick. "Like go fast, ummm, spin 900, umm and grab, ya." Editors and cimema-togs need to realize these guys don't know how to teach, you need to direct these tips, help the rider out, you're just making him and yourselves look stupid. Cheers.

Smooth as butter. But why give trick tips like this? This is just way to above the average readers skill. If you can stomp switch back 5's then I'm sure you don't need anymore tips other than spin harder and off bigger jumps... jus' sayin' not h8tin bro broos.
