Yes SNOWBOARDER Mag! The kids AREN’T going to know who Dale Rehberg is and why he was so important to the development of freestyle snowboarding in the early 90′s. And they aren’t going to know why fellow Ride team mate Roan Rogers( who he mentions) was either. I’m still waiting for an issue dedicated to all the names, big and small, that changed snowboarding to educate all the kids coming up in our sport today.

You guys just made a joke about Russell Winfield in a caption last issue.. none of these kids know that before Stevie Bell, Russell was the only black pro snowboarder in the game. He ruled then and he rules now. And how can we tie Russell into Roan and our boy Dale here? SAME GROUNDBREAKING TEAM!!!! Before the original Forum 8, there was a talented crew that all rode for Ride Snowboards. Jason, Russell, Roan, Dale, Jake.. they, in a sense, were the first ‘Forum 8′ type team in Snowboarding. Even Burton and Sims teams didn’t quite have that unified, common style of snowboarding through out their entire teams.

Ok…I’m finished ranting, and Dale, you rip brother, thank you for your tremendous contributions to the sport of snowboarding. Your style on and off the hill truly changed so much. You sir, are a legend.

Dale’s switch frontside 540′s made me spin off my toe edge.

KidShred says stick a fork in your mouth again Dale—good stuff. And I fully echo DShred’s comments. Blattner……meh, Russel had more talent for drinking than riding. Rehberg and Rogers though………SICK and hugely talented!

This is so cool, thanks! :)
