America’s Top Pro Model was an idea incepted by our editor, Pat Bridges a few years ago in order to pay homage to those whose insignias spawn sales and stoke out snowboarders across the globe. Since it is the largest gathering of pro model recipients in snowboarding today, the staff of SNOWBOARDER decided to wage a little office bet and choose a list of elite riders that we think will win this year’s ANTPM categories, so have a look at our educated estimations for this year’s America’s Next Top Pro Model presented by The House, and feel free to chime in on our comment boards on who you think will.

Pat Bridges, Editor

Highest Ollie: Dylan Thompson

“This is his first ANTPM and he’ll be hungry to prove his place amongst the best riders on earth.”

Longest Jib: Max Weinberger

“Since the Boxes For Days setup is the Best Jib setup for 2011, it really opens up the competition to all contestants. Max is who I am rooting for because the guy was one of the best tech box jibbers of the early 2000s but Eddie Wall, Derek Dennison, Lane Knaack, and others can’t be counted out.”

Biggest Air, Pipe: Bode Merrill

“Bode is a beast and even the mini pipe tranny can’t curtail his drive to push the limits. One factor could be if the other name on the Man’s Board topsheet chooses to join Bode at the 2011 ANTPM. Takuharu Nakai could be a major spoiler if he chooses to compete, considering that he did get 4th at the 2002 Olympics in SLC.”

Spin to Win: Kevin Jones

“KJ perfected the act of spinning off the toes. He could win this switch if he wants.”

Chinese Downhill: Bryan Fox

“In 2010 Bryan Fox bested the field in this event bettering his second place result from 2009. No other rider has been so dominant in a single ANTPM event in history. Mark my words Fox will win again in 2011.”

Charity Auction: Lauri Heiskari

“Had Bradshaw not stacked the deck with multiple decks, Lauri would have won this event in 2010. Now that Bradshaw doesn’t have Magoon’s kit to add to the take he might not repeat.”

Overall Winner (“The Champ”): Kevin Jones

“If you don’t know then just Google Kevin Jones.”

He’s got home court advantage.”

Derek Dennison is perhaps the most well-groomed and best-smelling of the ANTPM field. Clearly, he maintains his rail tricks as much as he does his body hair. Rider: Derek Dennison Photo: Aaron Dodds

2010 ANTPM overall champion Lauri Heiskari, clearing the high ollie at 3’ 6”. Lauri finished in the middle of the pack in the 2011 High Ollie event after winning this round in 2010. Probably had to do with all of the extra weight gained with the added ink needed to screen DCSHOECOUSA. Rider: Lauri Heiskari Photo: Aaron Dodds

This is the last photo ever taken of Aaron Biittner (pictured in orange). Biittner was found in a ravine later in the afternoon after holding MFM back from his coveted Chinese Downhill title. Laura Austin, Online Editor

Highest Ollie: Chris Bradshaw

“White men can jump…. sometimes”

Longest Jib: Forest Bailey

“He secretly has magnets in his board that stick to rails.”

Biggest Air, Pipe: Kyle Clancy

“He won last year, the odds are in my favor.”

Spin to Win: Kevin Jones

“Do triple backflips count?”

Chinese Downhill: Bryan Fox

“He wears all black, makes him more aerodynamic.”

Charity Auction: Chris Bradshaw

“He will probably try to cheat again thinking that the charity money can go to “The Hell’s Anglers…. Aka, his pocket.”

Overall Winner (“The Champ”): Bode Merrill

“Even though I didn’t select him as the winner of any of the events he will probably be “The Champ” anyway. His pro model is called “The Man’s Board” and has beer on the base…it’s hard not to be a champ with a board like that. Plus let’s face it, he is Bode Merrill.
