THE RÜF IS ON FIRE!

Not that this tally is a popularity contest, but Gigi has more fans amongst his pro colleagues than just about anyone else. This is due to the fact that he seemingly rides what he wants, how he wants. In other words, he is a pro snowboarder on his own terms without compromise. Perhaps the only other rider who has received such similar praise on such a grand scale is Danny Kass. This makes the latter’s revelation that “I would like to snowboard with him more than any human being” that much heavier.

RÜF RIDER WRECKS SHOP IN JOLLY ROGER

While having two parts in Absinthe’s Neverland is a feat in and of itself, Gigi also pillaged the European pow as a member of Pirate’s Jolly Roger crew. YES man David Carrier-Porcheron has shared both slope and screen with the Arlberg authority and had this to say of Gigi: “Massive magazine coverage, a video part in Pirate’s movie, and two Absinthe parts—Gigi doesn’t need to compete to be a champion in my book.”

Cameras are already rolling on one of the most anticipated projects of the new millennium—Rüf has teamed up with longtime sponsor Volcom to produce a movie with his riding as the centerpiece. Though this film may seem long overdue, the reality is that for years Gigi has been producing a full video’s worth of footage every season…only next fall, you won’t need to buy multiple movies to see it all.
