SNOWBOARDER’s Superpass Series descends upon Bear Mountain this Saturday, March 19th for its last stop on the highly successful five-part series. The newly created contests give promising riders the opportunity to qualify to session alongside the likes of Sebastién Toutant, Halldór Helgason, Chas Guldemond, Gerry Lopez, Mark McMorris, Tyler Flanagan, Pat Moore, and Scotty Lago at Superpark® 15.

“The final Superpass Superpark® wildcard spot is still available,” said SNOWBOARDER Editor Pat Bridges. “Therefore any up-and-coming shreds eager to make their mark at Mt. Bachelor this May have to first head to Bear Mountain and prove their worth at the last Superpass stop.”

Each season SNOWBOARDER Magazine receives hundreds of requests from riders looking for an elusive entry into Superpark®. The magazine has created this series to finally give the common snowboarder a chance to put their bag of tricks where their mouth is. So far, Brett Stewart (Mountain Creek, NJ), Todd Kirby (Moonlight Basin, MT), Mitchell

Kirby (Powder Ridge, MN) and Merrick Joyce (Waterville Valley, NH) will take that chance at this year’s Superpark® at Mt Bachelor, OR.

“It’s only fitting that Bear Mountain hosts the last Superpass event seeing as their park staff has been invited to build at Superpark® numerous times,” said SNOWBOARDER Publisher Chris Engelsman. “We’re excited to see So Cal’s emerging riders and potentially award one of them an invite for this year’s Superpark® 15 at Mt Bachelor, OR.”

Registration begins at 9am this Saturday in The Board Room and the field is limited to 50 riders on a first come, first serve basis. More info on Bear Mountain resort can be found at www.bearmountain.com. The course consists of 3 jumps (25ft, 35ft, 45ft) and 3 judges. The top ten riders in the semis will face off in the finals in a best-of-three-run format. The top finishers will receive prizes from participating sponsors with the possibility of the first place winner over the age of 18 receiving an invitation to Superpark® 15.

Helmets are required to participate in this event. For additional information, visit here: http://fresh.snowboardermag.com/feature/superpass-Superpark-qualifiers/
