Pre-dating twin tips and highbacks by over a decade, swallowtails are the only facet of snowboarding equipment that can truly be branded as “timeless.” The desire to drop a board’s tail in pow has never waivered and to that end, the swallowtail has left other design trends in its roost. For 2014, nearly every major manufacturer has taken a cue from Dimitrije Milovich’s original surfboard-inspired Winterstick silhouette and updated the swallowtail for a new generation looking to keep their tip up when laying it down in waist deep.
