The liftline is vacant, the Concrete Jungle is empty, and all is quiet on Windells campus in Welches. It’s the end of summer out at Hood, and while it’s been an amazing season filled with 100 foot long jibs, double corks and trains on jumps, tons of eating contests and lots of prizes, and some of the best skateboarding campers and staff have ever seen, it couldn’t last forever. The Session 7 campers have headed home, but with the end of summer and the beginning of the school year lurking simultaneously, the kids packed as much fun into the week as possible (two movie premieres, a jib session with Harrison Gordon and tons and tons of snowboarding and skateboarding, of course).

Luckily, even though the warm weather season is over, shred premieres are starting to kick off at your local theater and snowboard magazines and websites will tide over your appetite for riding until your resort’s lift start turning in a scant few months. But, before we say bon voyage to summer and patiently wait for the thermometer to drop, here are a couple of snaps from the last session at Windells. Enjoy and start saving your loose change: a session out a camp is the best way to spend your time in the summer.

Dylan Dragotta is not only a sick snowboarder, skateboarder and an all around decent individual, he's also going to be a freshman at classic Eastcoach dirt school, Plymouth State, this fall, making Dylan responsible about planning for his future, too. Dyl9 noseblunt.

See you next year, but until then, check www.windells.com/blog for updates, we’re still hanging out here with tons of skate teams coming by, Windells Academy about to start up for its second year, and winter camp is not too far away!

In Welsh, "Dylan" means "Son of the waves", which probably explains why Dylan Thompson is able to slash the white waves with such authority. As you can see, it's the end of summer, and we're grabbing at straws for clever captions. Don't let our cheesy caption take away from Dylan's pristine back nine.

Timberline has lost a lot of snow by mid August, but if you look, you can still find enough of the white stuff to pull a nice, end of summer tail grab.
