Burton Snowboards has dedicated the past 26 years to creating the
best snowboarding products in the world, sponsoring a team of top riders and
evolving snowboarding from a backwoods hobby to an influential lifestyle and
sport at mountains worldwide. Now, as Playboy celebrates its 50th Anniversary,
Burton is proud to join other leading companies in honoring the icon of lifestyle
entertainment.
Burton pays tribute to Playboy's 50th anniversary with a limited edition Playboy
Custom 58 snowboard. The best known, most prolific snowboard ever, the Custom has
spawned dozens of imitators and pretenders. It is truly the best choice for
riders who need one board that can do it all. Peak performance you can use and
abuse in halfpipes, on rails or way off the marked trails, the Custom can do it
all. The Custom's legendary power, strength and versatility combined with a
Playboy Rabbit Head base and top graphic will keep riders satisfied on the hill
all day long.
Only 700 Playboy Custom 58s will be distributed worldwide during the holiday
season. The new board will be unveiled at the kick-off party for the Burton World
Tour in New York City on October 7th. Two Playboy Playmates will be at the party
along with 10 of Burton's top snowboarders to show off the board, meet fans and
premiere the Burton Promo Video.
Romain De Marchi, one of Burton's top pro riders is pretty excited about the
Playboy Custom. "This board is perfect for my style of riding - snappy flex, sexy
side cut, smooth running length and chic design, just like the lovely Playmates
themselves."
In addition to producing 700 Playboy Customs, Burton will create a single,
one-of-a-kind Playboy Custom board with a pure gold Playboy Rabbit Head inlay to
be auctioned off in New York in March of 2004 to benefit DIFFA (The Design
Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS).
The Limited Edition Playboy Custom 58 will be sold in select Burton Dealers
worldwide. To find the Burton Dealer nearest you, visit
