Aspen, Colo. – The Winter X Games fourpeat curse is no more.
Sitting in 10th and last place after her first run, Janna Meyen (Bend, Ore.) dug deep and
delivered a huge final trip in Saturday’s Women’s Snowboard Slopestyle final to win her fourth
consecutive gold medal with a score of 91.33.
After falling in her first run, Meyen showed confidence and creativity in her second, nailing a
huge trick switch 720 on the final jump.
Hana Beaman (Big Bear, Calif.), who qualified 10th, held the top spot in the podium after an
83.33 on her first run that included a big Cab 540. She watched nervously from the bottom as
her run held up rider after rider until Meyen’s historic trip. Still it was enough for her to grab her
second career Slopestyle silver medal.
“I’m so happy. It was nerve wracking sitting at the bottom of the course, by myself, with no
control. I can’t believe my first run and my first score held up through this competition.”
Jamie Anderson (South Lake Tahoe, Calif.) scored a 77.33, good enough for the bronze and
her first Winter X Games medal.
