MINOR THREAT: Tyler Flanagan - The Fourteen-Year-Old Veteran
In the four years that I’ve known Tyler Flanagan, he doesn’t seem to have gotten one inch taller, but his skills have grown by leaps and bounds. On any given day, Tyler and his band of midget misfits can be found throwing snowballs, blasting snot-rockets, and laughing hysterically from Chair 6 at Mammoth. When it comes time to shred, though, T. Flan is noticeably wise beyond his years. With maneuvers from Cab nines to switch backside 180s, Tyler is heading up the next generation of schoolyard shredders, and it doesn’t look like he will be frequenting the detention hall any time soon, as long as he keeps getting suspended….in mid-air.

1. Find a jump with good kick to it, because this mellow rotation looks better when spun slowly
2. Roll into the jump like you’re the man. Chicks dig a dude with confidence.
3. As you approach the lip, make a set-up turn on your toes and then switch to your heels as you’re on the takeoff of the jump.
4. As you reach the lip of the takeoff, bend your knees and drop your arms for style points. I pre-wind just a little bit. Pop off your heels. You are now opened up to the jump.
5. Pop is the key to a nice floaty frontside 360. Now that you are airborne, I highly recommend grabbing stalefish and poking it out at 180.
6. After you poke, slightly rotate your head towards your front shoulder and put down the landing gear.
7. Ride straight down the landing, because now you ARE the man. Don’t forget to stop and grab some digits from all the chicks who saw you stomp a frontside 360 stale!
5 Frontside Spinning Influences:
Jeff Anderson
Gabe Taylor
Shaun White
Scotty Lago
John Jackson
