Marc Frank Montoya dishes out "Whoop Ass!!"

The Infamous "Whoop Ass!!" energy drink will now be handed out FREE of charge to all customers at Marc Frank Montoyas' THE BLOCK hotel. The sought after energy drink is a product of Jones Soda Co.

Jones Soda Co. was founded by Peter Van Stork who started the company in 1986 after selling his Volkswagen Sirocco for 6,000 Canadian dollars. It is now a publicly traded corporation known for its inventive marketing and responsible approach to business. The company markets a unique line of beverages and has grown primarily through word of mouth and quality of product. "Jones Soda Co. is stoked to be part of something so cool and fun as THE BLOCK," says Peter van Stolk, C.E.O. of Jones Soda Co., "This is a great opportunity for Jones Soda where we can be involved with creative people doing things differently and having fun. The Block has all the elements of creating a unique experience for their hotel guests."

Jones Soda Co. has also signed an agreement to create a signature room at THE BLOCK, namely room 215 across from the hot tub. The room is scheduled for completion prior to winter season of 2003.

THE BLOCK hotel expects over 3,000 snowboarders during this winter. Aside from offering boot and glove dryers, board waxing and tuning services, the hotel also plans to help the snowboarders fight the cold with complimentary energy enhancing items.

"We're gearing up for a busy winter" says Marc Frank Montoya, "I'm gonna hand out cans of "Whoop Ass" to all my coo' BLOCK customers, but for the ones that break anything; ... I'm gonna "open it up on em" he says. "Nah really, it's a good thing."

The BLOCK is a 28 room snowboarder hotel founded by Professional Snowboarder, Marc Frank Montoya and veteran hotelier Liko S. Smith. Other partners include Professional snowboarder Travis Parker, Burton Team Manager Dean "Blotto" Gray and Travis Wood of Sims Snowboards. It is 1 block from the Heavenly Gondola in S. LakeTahoe. The hotel plans to expand to 50 units by winter. It currently has two second- story decks with exterior music, a rooftop hot tub, free high speed access and wireless terminals as well as complimentary CLIF BARS and energy drinks for all guests upon check in. In room amenities include cordless phones, CD players, DVD/game consoles and coffee makers, refrigerators and room service. The hotel is located at 4143 Cedar Avenue in South Lake Tahoe, directly adjacent to Harveys/Harrahs Casinos and as well as the incoming convention center scheduled for 2005.
