with one of the biggest and longest standing sponsors in the industry? As
Mountain Dew proudly announces the signing of snowboard / skateboard superstar
Shaun White, the world is about to find out.
At only sixteen years of age, Shaun White is arguably the top snowboarder on the
planet today and has the potential to earn the same title in the skateboarding
world in the very near future. Shaun's participation in this year's Summer X
Games is unprecedented as he is the first action sports athlete to ever qualify
to compete in unique events at both the Summer and Winter X Games. Born, raised
and currently residing in San Diego, CA, Shaun's natural charisma and incredible
athletic prowess has quickly propelled him to the top of the podium on countless
occasions as well as into the forefront of the media spotlight. According to USA
Today, Shaun's achievements both on and off his board have positioned him to
become "the next Tony Hawk." The future of action sports has arrived, and
Mountain Dew is very excited to stand behind Shaun White as he pushes
snowboarding and skateboarding to unforeseen levels.
"We could not be more excited to announce Shaun as the newest member of the
Mountain Dew team," proclaims Heidi Sandreuter, Mountain Dew Marketing Manager.

everything he does."
Shaun will make his debut as a Mountain Dew athlete at the upcoming 2003 Summer X
Games IX in Los Angeles, CA, as he goes for top honors in the Skateboard Vert and
Skateboard Vert Best Trick competitions. After already taking home two gold
medals at the 2003 Winter X Games, he is poised to re-write the record books as
he embarks on his first Summer X Games experience.
"I like Mountain Dew because they have been backing action sports from the
beginning," says Shaun. "I wanted to go with a company that everybody knows and
likes. For me, Mountain Dew was the answer."
