This one shop is Nine Star and its opening in LA at the intersection of Olympic and Sepulveda. Nine Star (www.9star.com), announced today that Saturday, November 15, 2003 will mark the Grand Opening kickoff celebration for the retailer's inaugural store. The festival will be hosted by Wee-Man of Jackass and will include performances by local bands and a professional skateboard and bmx exhibition. The opening celebration of the action sports industry's first interactive store will begin at noon and continue until 9.

"A blowout is the only way to launch a new approach to action sports stores - we want people to have an experience each and every time they come by," said Matt Levenson, President of Nine Star.

Nine Star is the quintessential example of what is being heralded as a revolutionary new concept in retail stores - interactivity. Nine Star encourages its customers to touch, handle, ride, and in every other way try out top name-brand products BEFORE buying them. Even the store layout invites people to do something typically unheard of at retail stores - hang out.
