Snowdays Foundation is hosting its 2nd annual public golf tournament August 10, 2012 at Wildwood Golf Course. All proceeds go towards Snowdays Foundation’s upcoming 2012 – 2013 season. Snowdays Foundation is 100% volunteer based and runs 100% off of donations from our local community.

This years golf tournament will feature an 8am shotgun including18 holes of golf, BBQ, silent auction, player gift bags, award ceremony, and the chance to win individual and team prizes. Last years golf tournament was a huge success and has already attracted many big names in snowboarding from local sponsors such as Nike, Bonfire and Skullcandy.

Snowdays foundation is a Portland based non-profit dedicated to empowering local youth through snowboarding since 2004. Founded by world class professional snowboarder Travis Parker and Portland’s Jefferson High school teacher Patrick Edwards, the program reaches out to middle and high school students from challenging neighborhoods, suffering from low academic achievement, high poverty rates, and single-parent households.

“By working through challenges on the mountain, students gain self confidence, strengthen friendships, and also have an opportunity to become more aware of their natural surroundings. The volunteers of Snowdays have all reaped vast benefits from snow sports, learning to respect and care for the mountain environment, understanding the benefits of healthy lifestyle choices, and appreciating the joy that snow sports can bring. It is our hope to pass on this knowledge, excitement, and passion to the students.”
