On December 8-11, 2010 “The Summit” first annual Action Sports Film Festival will take place in Breckenridge, Colorado. This film festival will showcase talented filmmakers from around the globe as well as top athletes, live music, industry Q&A’s with both athletes and filmmakers, photography exhibits, local activities and a multitude of film screenings of the years best ski & snowboard films. This four-day event will kickoff on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 with an open house meet and greet with athletes, industry professionals and filmmakers. Over 30x films will be screened over the first three days followed by the grand award ceremony held at the Riverwalk Amphitheater in downtown Breckenridge on Saturday December 11, 2010.

The Summit Action Sports Film Festival will launch featuring ski and snowboard films exclusively for the kick off season. As the festival builds momentum and support for 2011, we will expand to feature all action sports genres from Surfing, Wakeboarding, Skateboarding and Adventure.The festival will feature a dynamic range of films that promote story, editing, cinematography, creativity and progression of the sports.The film festival will be held at an exciting time of the season for action sports, between two major events, the Visa USSA Grand Prix at Copper Mtn and the Mountain Dew Tour snow series kick off in Breckenridge. An incredible amount of industry professionals, athletes, photographers, filmmakers and visitors will engage in these events.

Filmmakers will have a chance to explore the town and ski resort of Breckenridge with support from local businesses such as restaurants, cafes, art galleries, night clubs and outdoor activities for a truly unique experience.
The Summit Action Sports Film Festival strives to support both amateur and professional filmmakers working to expand and promote the action sports culture worldwide.
