West Coast Invitational Returns to Mammoth May 6-8, 2011

Mammoth Mountain, CA – The springtime party of the year returns to Mammoth Mountain May 6-8, 2011 with the tenth annual West Coast Invitational (WCI). Featuring an elite field of 30 invited riders including Peter Line, Eddie Wall and Todd Richards, WCI mixes on-snow competitions, great parties and a music performance by Blessed Le Strange.

The second annual Eddie Wall Ride Invitational will spotlight riders facing off on a custom course featuring multiple wallrides spread out along the base of Broadway above the sun deck at Main Lodge. The riders will battle it out for three hours before gathering to vote for the winner in this rider-judged event. Prizes include engraved watches from Vestal, products from Apple and cash.

On Saturday, the Mammoth Unbound Entourage will host a rail jam qualifier for selected athletes from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on two rails located in The Village at Mammoth. The top riders from the qualifier will earn a spot with the pros for the WCI Village Rail Jam later that night.

The WCI Village Rail Jam will feature selected pro snowboarders facing off under the lights on a 3-story custom-built scaffolding structure for cash and prizes. The total cash and prize purse for the West Coast Invitational is a $20,000.

Once the action is finished at the Village Rail Jam, party-goers can hop on The Village Gondola up to Canyon Lodge for a live performance by Blessed Le Strange.

Viewing of the Eddie Wall Ride Invitational and the WCI Rail Jam are free to the public. Entry to the concert at Canyon Lodge featuring Blessed Le Strange will be $10 per person for advance purchase or $15 per person at the door. Tickets are available at any Mammoth Mountain ticket window, by calling 800.MAMMOTH or at www.MammothMountain.com.
