Holiday Hammers at Wachusett went off this year. People came from all over the Northeast to ride in the event. Wachusett Park Crew did a great job with the setup, and they event built a 10 foot tall hammer just for the contest. Despite the pouring rain all day, kids still had a great time, chucking doubleflips and all kinds of heavy rail tricks all day. The standout trick of the day came from Grave Digger, with a shirtless wallride crippler on the hammer. He was crowned with the prestigious “Shirtless Big Mike Award for Kids Who Can’t Read Good.” A lot of the East Coast all-stars came out of the woodwork for this: Pat Moore, Mike Rave, Chris Carr, Ted Lavoie, Shaun Murphy, Tyler Lynch, Cole St. Martin and Eugene Stancato. Thanks so much for the support from our presenting sponsors Nixon, Salomon, LRG, ThirtyTwo, Wachusett, Etnies, and Eastern Boarder for making this event possible, and also SNOWBOARDER Mag, Celtek, Crab Grab, Cobra Dogs, Leatherman, Dang Shades, East Mag, Magical GoGo, Stance, and New Era for all the great prizes! Hopefully this is the first annual and we can continue to have this event for years to come.
