Dew Tour 2012: Snowbasin Slopestyle Finals

Words & Photos: Sean Kerrick Sullivan

The dark weather greeting slopestyle riders at the 2012 Toyota Dew Tour Championships at Snowbasin, UT didn't bother Seb Toots as he won the Dew Cup on Sunday. "A bowl of cereal" got Seb fired up in the morning and nothing after that would stop him as he checked off another win and his first Dew Tour Championship off his to do list. Eric Willett and Sage Kotsenburg both seemed a little bothered by the bad weather, both scoring lower than they would have liked. Idaho charger Dash Kamp made a huge impression on the crowd and judges with his unique and solid style in the air, and although this may be the first time you have heard of him, expect that to change. His first run score held and landed him in second, but a rough fall on run two left him seeing birdies, which must have been interesting as they were mixed with confetti and champagne as he stood atop the podium. Spencer Link rounded out the top 3 for the men. In womens snowboarding, I was impressed by the whole field, but Spencer O'Brien and Enni Rukajarvi had me stoked with proper 7's and 5's respectively. O'Brien's 7 off the toes on the last jump closed the discussion, she no doubt was absolutely deserving of the "W" for the day, and her second Dew Cup.
