If there was a tourism video for why Alberta is such a good place to shred in, this would be it. SARKA PANCOCHOVA TAKES FIRST AT SUPERGIRL SNOW PRO IN CONUNCTION WITH COMMUNITY CUP, WINS THE ONLY ALL-WOMEN’S 5-STAR EVENT IN THE WORLD

Breckenridge, CO (April 6, 2013) — Twenty five of the best snowboarders from around the globe converged at Breckenridge Ski Resort today for the Supergirl Snow Pro in conjunction with Community Cup —the only all-women’s WST-sanctioned 5-Star event in the world. The contest came to a thrilling close with Sarka Pancochova (Czech Republic) taking home both the title and the famous Supergirl cape. Seven of the world’s top ten ranked pros competed in the event, which was developed to showcase the best of women’s snowboarding on a course completely designed by the riders.
Pancochova won the contest in her second run with an outstanding performance on both the jumps and rails, pulling tricks like a half-Cab 50-50 backside 360 off the barrel and a switch 540 for a score of 92. Christy Prior, who landed a frontside rodeo 720, came in second with a score of 90. X Games Champion, Silje Norendal, finished third with an 87.75.
“I did the best run of my life today. It was a great season-ending competition and it was so fun to be out here with these girls on a course we designed and voted on,” said Pancochova. “The conditions today were perfect: the weather, the course, the vibe. All of that contributed to what I was able to do today, and I can’t wait to compete in the event next year.”
The event supported eco-awareness and sustainability efforts through organizations like the Non-Toxic Revolution, Keep-A-Breast, Protect Our Winters, Plastic Pollution Coalition and One Life.

“This was the first ever rider designed and approved course, something the riders have been working on the past 2 years,” said Chanelle Sladics, founder of the Community Cup. “It’s a dream come true to see Breckenridge bring our course to life. We truly attained the progressive and safe riding we intended to through the event.”
This is the first event of the 2013 Supergirl Jam Series, the action sports industry’s only large-scale all-female competition and lifestyle series. Developed as a celebration of female empowerment, the Supergirl Jam Series features more than 150 top female pros competing in snowboarding, skateboarding and surfing as well as ‘girl-power’ activities at events held throughout the year.

Ashbury Eyewear held their annual team demo at Bear on Saturday, April 6, 2013. The weather was perfect for sunglasses and the set up fit the creative riding style of the Ashbury team. Tyler the Creator and Capita at X Games Aspen 2013

Tyler the Creator and the Odd Future kids stepped off the stage and onto the snow at X Games Aspen 2013. With help from Capita, everyone was outfitted with boards and Union bindings as they learned to snowboard. From the looks of this video, Tyler's flow extends past his rap abilities, he was a natural on the mountain.
