Sammy Spiteri is a good guy. That may sound like a generic statement, but if you have met this Tahoe local, you have witnessed his permanent grin and vivacious attitude toward exploring the world around him, leaving no trail untracked, and you know that his demeanor is as unique and appreciated as his finesse on his snowboard. In this episode of Woodward Tahoe Fridays, Sammy laps the Boreal park with his positive, rail-friendly style.

When Devun Walsh calls and says he's working on a web series and movie with a group of his friends, well you get off your ass and answer the phone. Devun, along with Iikka Backstrom, Ryan Tiene, Benji Ritchie, Eero Niemela, and part time snowboardermag video commentator Dustin Craven are all working together on a series dropping this fall called "Get Outta Town". By the looks of this teaser the series is gonna be bad ass with personality, gnarly spots and production value that is sure to separate it from the rest of the video pack. If the "Get Outta Town" series can't make you want to shred than we don't know what will.

Airblaster just dropped the teaser for their upcoming team movie, "Gone Wild" and it's sure to be an instant-classic. In "Gone Wild", Airblaster focuses on what makes snowboarding so fun and important to all of us: good snow, lots of turns, our favorite tricks, and most importantly, riding with the crew. Featuring Nick Dirks, Tim Eddy, Jonas Michilot, Leanne Pelosi, Ben Lynch, Brandon Cocard, and friends, as they strap in and head downhill in their collectively unique and creative styles. In addition to tons of powder and enticing teases, this video also has the best use of a Kid Rock song since, well, ever. Enjoy and stay tuned for "Gone Wild" in Fall 2013.

Mountain High’s 2013 Video Wars was the biggest ever with $1,000 in cash plus terrific prizes like a 2013/14 Mountain High season pass, a Go Pro Hero 3 camera, and more. Videos had to be shot at Mountain High between March 3rd & 17th and contain sick riding, colorful lifestyle, and artistic mastery. This year’s submissions had all of that and more with a faux celebrity appearance by MC Hammer, ridiculous special effects, and some fantastic night lighting. "Hammer Time" is the second place video. Click here to see all the videos http://www.mthigh.com/videowars. Start getting your crew together now for Video Wars 2014 at Mountain High.

This past January at the Denver trade show Halldor strolled into the Lobster booth with a band saw in one hand and a Big Gulp of some sort of vile liquor concoction in the other. He then proceeded to cut the nose of his Lobster board into a hammerhead in front of twenty or so assembled retailers, proudly proclaiming that if he could do it anyone could. The entire time he was standing their sawing I wasn't sure if at any moment I was going to see: a) Halldor cut one of his fingers off b) the board was gonna slip out and fly into the crowd or worse yet c) his hair which was dangling close to the saw was going to tangle and rip his skull into the blade. DTF marks the Helgason's third movie and I'd like to think filming for their project is kinda like that scene in Denver, dangerous....very dangerous and you never know what is going to happen.
