The first episode of Woodward Tahoe Fridays features the epic styling of Tim Eddy, whose ability to flip a laid-out backie is paralleled only by his Euro-carving skills. Tim's style is rooted in a unique creativity, from his brightly colored dreadlocks to the way he looks at the mountain, but no matter what Tim's doing, his board control is clear and he's having the most fun as he shreds the slopes of Boreal. Red Bull Media House and Blank Paper Studios have come together to create "SLIDEWAYS" a unique look at snowboarding through its riders and culture.
From Red Bull, "over the past two decades the sport of snowboarding has evolved phenomenally. But for many The roots and soul that once were, have now become a subculture within the current snowboarding culture.
In this 4 episode series we focus on some riders that prefer to take their passion away from the spotlight to search deep into the realm of design and progression of the experience.
In "SLIDEWAYS", we follow along Wolfgang Nyvelt, voted "Rider of the Year" award in 2008, as he explores the world of like-minded shapers and designers from the snow, surf and skate worlds in an effort to expand and share upon the ideas that link all 3 cultures."

The second stop of Snake & Hammers took place at Mt. High in California on Saturday. Murphy's Law normally states: when you have a snowboard event on the calendar you can almost guarantee that the weather will be bad. This formula doesn't apply for Southern California. Instead, you get a beautifully clear, sunny day with people snowboarding in tee shirts, shorts and sports bras in slushy 70° weather.
With plenty of sun screen on their faces and turkey corndogs in their bellies, the competitors of the first Snake & Hammers event in North America battled it out through a very fun and challenging course.
As the snow went from slushy to extra slushy, the riders powered their way through the snake-like berms and hucked the most technical and stylish tricks they could muster. This combination of speed and trickery had competitors and crowd lurkers smiling from ear to ear.
After three heated runs, fifteen men and three women were selected for a one run, do-or-die finals. With only one run, riders had to chose between playing it safe or going for broke. Scott Blum chose the latter.... With a balanced attack of speed and creativity, Blum electrified the crowd and judges and with a stylish frontside three over the main jump and straight into a high-speed handplant over the rainbow box. In the end, this combination of speed and stylish tricks won him the first North America Snake & Hammers award and $1,500 cash.
Matt Ladley and Greg Bretz were on hill and handed out the Hammer Award to Jeremy Page for the sickest hammer of the day.
And although everyone who competed felt like they won, only four men and one woman hoisted the coveted Snake & Hammers trophies.
1st - Scott Blum 36.0, $1,500
2nd - Spencer Link 37.2, $1000
3rd - Mika Height 37.7, $500
1st Women's Jamie Madrid 41.08, $750
Hammer Jeremy Page "Switch Back Rodeo" $250
Next stops:
03/24-26 Montafon, Austria
03/30 Mt. Hood Meadows, OR

Mammoth Mountain has a long legacy of not only producing one of the best parks that the US has to offer, but also fostering many of the best riders, who have called the Unbound Terrain Parks their home over the years. In 2013, Mammoth's penchant for progressing park riding through perfectly maintained features continues to attract quality snowboarders who love to lap Main Park and enjoy Mammoth's sunny skies. Scott Blum, Mitch Richmond, Tyler Flannagan and Garrett Warnick, Jaeger Bailey, Greg Bokencamp and Vanessa Oelke make it clear why they chose to call Mammoth home, and look darn good doing it. Filmed by Greg Weaver.
