The Eastern Snowboard League finals went down this past Saturday at Seven Springs Mountain Resort in Pennsylvania. Riders from all over the East Coast competed for the overall prize in two divisions. The Youngblood division were throwing down for a week long trip to Woodward at Copper this summer to polish their skills for next season’s series. The Destroyers put it all on the line for an invite and chance to show their skill at Snowboarder Magazine’s coveted Superpark 15.
Seven Springs put together a impressive course for the finals that pushed the limits of the competitors in both divisions. It all started out on the upper rail section consisting of a variety of jibs and ending with a 45-foot cannon feature. The second section of the event was held on the bottom jump of Seven Springs’ large triple line. The jump was about 65-foot and some serious tricks were thrown down.
At the end of the day, it was newcomer Drew Yurko who took home first place for his consistency on all the features. Second place went to Travis Jones and third to Cody Voit. For the overall series, Dylan Thomas took home the victory in the Youngblood division and will be headed to Woodward at Copper this summer to work on his double corks. Peter Pape clenched the Destroyers division and will be holding it down for the East Coast at Snowboarder Magazine’s Superpark 15 this spring.
