Rewind: Jason Brown Full Part

June 14

//

Words: Drew Amer

From the depths of the internet comes this classic part from Mack Dawg’s Amp. Released in 2000, the video didn’t have quite the impact as Mack Dawg’s other release from that year, Forum’s The Resistance. But, one part that did stick out was that of Jason Brown. Known for getting weird, his style and trick selection were way ahead of the times. The part was filmed during his last year on Burton, after which Jason moved on to be one of the founding members of CAPiTA. Make sure to turn it up; the song is a classic. And don’t even try to hate on the big board, skinny stance, step-in bindings, shirtless, cheesegrater stair, snow import, rail double-line to convertible getaway ender shot.

    What ever happened to him? He was my favorite snowboarder of that time. I used to religiously follow jasonbrown.com which in my opinion was the first great pro snowboarder site.

    HA HA! Nice to know there’s still some love out there for this work. Thanks for the good times BURTON! Should give Ross S. props for this part, and Kurt H..and dawg for getting the song and letting me edit the part. I put in lots of shots that usually wouldn’t have made the cut….
