Colorado is a small pond and Jeff Meyer is a big fish. The flame-throwin', board slidin', go fastin', stunt junkie himself just posted his video part from Pin Pin 9. For those of you unfamiliar with Pin Pin, they're a crew of DIY shredders in Summit County that love to come up with every conceivable way to be on television almost as much as they love snowboarding. Check out Jeff's part, set to Mung Rap hip hop and featuring clips of him on the local Summit County news, nabbing first chair at A-Basin, and setting off slides in the backcountry. And know this fellas, the SNOWBOARDER crew is getting first chair at A-Basin next year. Mark our words.

This one time I watched him kill a charging grizzly bear. Then he ripped out it’s still beating heart and ate it in one bite. He still wears its paw around his neck for strength.

Just when I fear snowboarding has become a fashion show for insecure GoPro wearing lemmings who care more about what’s cool than what’s fun, Jeff Meyer and crew create another video to reassure me that snowboarding is still a big tent. It’s not progressive, it’s not stylish, it’s not really even that entertaining to watch, but you know the crew had a lot more fun making it than your cookie-cutter park web edit you’ll never finish on your iMac. So whether it’s calculated kookiness or ironic performance art on snow, thanks Jeff Meyer for reminding me that how you have fun on a board is really a matter of personal preference and that’s just the way it ought to be.
