Lipstick Productions Trailer: 5 More Minutes…Please?!

June 23

//

Words: Laura Austin

One of the things I like about women’s snowboard movies is that they tend to leave me with a smile on my face. That sounds corny as hell. But maybe that’s just because I myself lack male genitalia and it is cool to see fellow ladies out there riding, killing it, and having a good time doing it. How tight your pants are, how narrow your stance is, how many switch ups you do, and whether you have a penis or boobs aside… we snowboard to have fun. And these ladies are doing just that.

Starring: Aimee Fuller, Ana Rumiha, Aline Bock, Tini Gruber, Julia Baumgartner, Margot Rozies, Urska Pribosic, Basa Stevulova, Jenny Jones, Lisa Filzmoser, Vera Janssen, Conny Bleicher, Sina Candrian,… and more.

    “…I myself lack male genitalia and it is cool to see fellow ladies out there riding, killing it, and having a good time doing it.”

    fellow ladies? is that like a transvestite?

  • mark

    @girls rule!
    i doubt lacking a penis allows you to have more fun than any guy ever could.
    bite your tongue before you catch yourself sounding like a dumb bitch again.

  • squares

    riding was killer, but the editing was hideous

  • girls rule!

    @mark
    Way to be arrogant and assume that I am not only dumb, but also a bitch. You going to slap me around if I say something again? That’s what guys like you do right, you get so frustrated when you’re wrong that you take it out with physical aggression. You might have a penis, but I’m sure it is mighty small.

  • John

    I was gonna make fun of Mark for receiving that insult but I actually agree. You were being a bit of a dumb bitch because I assume you are angry about sexist ideals telling you you can’t be as good as men, but you are fighting that with a sexist comment by saying women know how to have more fun. Hate just breeds more hate.

    track/artist?

  • FIS lover

    sick trailer!

  • soteased

    slow motion banana sucking! thats how a girls teaser should be. halfway boobie showing. so if i buy the real movie do you show the rest of that clip?

  • girls rule!

    @John -
    The perceived impervious shield of anonymity that the internet has got the better of me. Typically I would never encourage or participate in hateful banter. I do admit that the sexist ideals can be frustrating especially with respect to talent levels in various sports. I will be the first to admit that the wnba is a joke, but women’s snowboarding is still hugely respectable. It sickens me to see guys mocking it or ridiculing it simply because the girls aren’t doing double (triple) corks or a hardway 270 backlip on a 70 stair rail.

    I just want respect for female snowboarders while they are still snowboarding… not just the feigned respect at the bar while guys are trying to take them home.

    @girlsrule

    CUNT….

  • Newbie

    OMG you guys are hilarious. Here I am a newbie snowboardress (born and raised in the West Indies and now learning to love the snow here in Canada) looking for cool websites on snowboarding where people blog about a sport that they love. And I come across this cool trailer with chicks that have skills that I hope to one day attain. But then the comments are so…….. stupid.

    Hey Soteased! Travis Rice takes his shirt off in every movie he does. OH and he calls his board a Banana. I know I watch his movies to get a full serving of his manly shoulders and his banana.

  • soooooooo”witit”

    @girlsrule……..no such thing as a hw270backlip, cuz it would have to be hwcab270backlip or hw270switchbacklip.

  • ugh

    riding’s actually decent. why do women’s snowboard videos always have to be edited so badly?

  • Blank

    @girlsrule…I can understand that you would like to have female snowboarders respected on the same level as the boys, and for me there are a few that do stand apart from the rest (Annie Boulanger, Torah Bright, and that Euro girl whos name escapes me at the moment…rode for forum a few years back and charges park harder than any girl I’ve seen).

    Besides the select few though, there just seems to be something missing when compared to mens snowboarding…It always seems a bit half assed if you know what I mean. To substitue for the lack of progression it always seems that women resort to the “girls just want to have fun” attitude. I’m fine with either aproach, but just don’t demand to be taken seriously as a progressive athlete when you aren’t really pushing womens snowboarding into new territory.

    No hate at all here, just an observation.

  • Dave Howell

    Snowboarding is a bit hard for me because…….I Have a Huge DICK!!!

  • Spencer

    @Blank
    “there just seems to be something missing when compared to mens snowboarding…It always seems a bit half assed if you know what I mean.”

    I think a big part of that is we saw a HUGE explosion when it came to men’s snowboarding with Shaun White. Him coming onto the scene changed everything and people started having to do bigger, badder, more dangerous(and more rewarding) tricks to try and compete against him. Yes the women’s side of the sport lacks someone as powerful as Shaun(although there are plenty of very good women snowboarders out there), but I think with time someone could really burst onto the scene and change how women do things. Kelly Clark pulling that 1080 during Winter X is going to spice things up, and we’ll be seeing more big tricks from the ladies in due time.

    @ Cheeeeyah
    You do realize that Laura Austin is a female, right?

  • Melissa

    Wow everyone needs to chillax, the trailer looks rad and they look like theyre having fun, which lets face it is what snowboardings all about. male or female :)
