Powder and Rails: Kicktales of Kidwell

November 18

//

In 2007 SNOWBOARDER Magazine declared that “Kidwell may not have been the first to do an air on a snowboard but he was the first to do it right.” Trevar Cushing and his VBS web series are back for another season and the first episode showcases the uncontested father of freestyle snowboarding Terry Kidwell. From the Wine Rock freefall on a swallowtail to Reagan era overhead McTwists to numerous world titles. Without Kidwell there would be no Shaun White. Fact. Class is now in session. Tardiness or absences won’t be excused. Sit back, push play, and take notes.

    I hope the little kiddies watch this…they need to know where things like the Cab and Mctwist came from and they should hear it from TK. I really wish we snowboarders would have come up with our own name for the mctwist like a “terrytwist” or “McKidwell” or whatever TK wanted to call it? Thanks for everything TK!

    Actually cab came from steve caballero the skateboarder and im pretty sure this guy had nothing to do with the mctwist but hes still sick

    learn from this guy & mike basich. they were pros who never had big contracts or personal assistants. they loved the sport not the fame. remember why we ride guys. because we all want to remain different.
